Ways to reduce battery consumption:-
1. Use GPRS only when needed, unlike me who has it on 24 hrs with Fring, Nokia eMail, Kaspersky Anti Virus and Google Latitude. Very heavy on the battery these things are.
2. Use backlight as less as possible. Go to Settings andd reduce the time for backlight.
3. Go to Nokia site and to My Nokia. Learn all the short cuts (single key operations) from there. This is to reduce the keypresses.
The battery drains so quickly because it maintains a constant connection to the network via a data uplink and downlink.Meaning its like continously talking on ur mobile phone. With Push email, the device is constantly connecting to the network which means its downloading data (which is ur email) on a regualr basis. And thus is draining the battery faster. Put it to the test!!! turn ur push email off and you will find that the battery will last for 3 days
The best solution is to buy an extra battery and keep it handy in your car.
Cheers
P.S. The battery that comes with the E71 is 1100 mAH .. right ?
