SOURCE: My craftsman 3 gal. air compressor, 921.153101 won't compress air

I WOULD TRY DISCONNECTING THE PIPING FROM THE HEAD DOWN TO THE TANK AND SEE IF ITS BLOWING AIR. COULD THE COMPRESSOR BE RUNNING BACKWARDS - YOU WOULD HAVE HAD TO CHANGE THE WIRING IN THE MOTOR.
VALVES IN THE HEAD COULD ALSO BE BROKEN. YOU CAN REMOVE THE INTAKE AND IT SHOULD **** YOUR FINGERS AT THE OPENING. HOPE THIS HELPS.

SOURCE: Oil capacity for craftsman air compressor circa 1978 model #106..

I have a 2hp craftsman air compessor with a two cylinder pump, Here is the info from my manual as far as oil capacitity:

Remove oil fill plug and slowly add
a compressor oil until it is even with the
top of the oil fill hole. NOTE: Do not
allow oil to be lower than 3/8"
from the top at any time. When filling
the crankcase, the oil flows very slowly
into the pump. If the oil is added too
quickly, it will overflow and appear to
be full. NOTE: Crankcase oil capacity is
approximately 16 fluid ounces.

I buy my compessor oil from Lowes in the tool department. It comes in 16oz and sells for about $3. I wouldnt worry about how many ounces it holds but rather that the oil level is to top of filler hole. Lowes also sells a synthetic oil for about $7 and is recommended for severe conditions (hot / cold / used all day). Good Luck!

I purchased a used Craftsman 2 HP 20 Gal air compressor, model # 919.176220. I'm looking for a copy of the user manual, Sears # SI-30-14-4-C. This item is no longer available from Sears.com and doesn't...

Since the exact model number manual is not available go to Sears and look at the compressors they have on the floor (or in the catalog). Find one that looks like the one you have and note the model number (these devices haven't changed much over the years). order the manual for the one that matches your machine the best.

I just bought a used Craftsman air compressor at a garage sale...100PSI, twin cylinder, 1HP motor. Model # 106.154440. Runs fine, but wondered how to check the oil level in the compressor case and if it...

I have a Sears 106.154581 most likely like yours. You will find a small plug (fill hole) and slightly larger plug on side of pump close to bottom (drain hole). Fill compressor with compressor oil to top thread of fill hole. Oil should look rather clear with very little odor. Compressor oil is available at Lowes for about $3. Good luck

I have a Craftsman Air compressor 919.150380. My tire needs air. My husband passed away 3 yrs. ago, and I don't know how to operate it. Can't find owner's manual or one online.

Attach your hose and tire filler. They should be a "quick connect". Take the larger fitting and kind of slide it back and insert the smaller fitting. Let go of the slide and pull to make sure you have a positive connection. It will be easier to connect everything when there is no air pressure. There should be an on/off switch located on the right if the tank is facing you. Plug it in, turn it on and wait for it to fill up. Depending on how much air you need, you might have to put some in and then let the compressor cycle back up to its high pressure.
Let me know if I can help you further.
