you do not "obtain" a split screen. It automatically shows the exit of a freeway as you come up to it. you also have to be navigating somewhere not just viewing the maps. if that seems to not be working, try updating the maps as that is bundled with them (junction view)
Updates
come at a cost, 54.95 to get the most current map set or 89.95 for a
lifetime subscription to map updates. The lifetime subscription is the
more economic way to go saving 20$ by the second year. You are eligible for a free update within 60 days of the units purchase, so you could try obtaining that before paying. All your GPS updates & accessories can be obtained at www.gpscity.ca or www.gpscity.com.
This issue sounds like it could be solved with a Map + Firmware Update. To get you firmware updated is a free process all you have to do is navigate to this link and download Garmins WebUpdater Software. Updating your mapping is a diffrerent story, to obtain mapping for your nuvi there is 2 options 1. is a Onetime update via DVD for 49.99 or 2. is to purchase a Lifetime Mapping Update Subscription for the cost of 89.99. Ix would reccommend a Onetime Update for your unit being an older unit. All your GPS accessories can be obtained at www.gpscity.ca or www.gpscity.com.
Not sure if I'm allow to post a link, but if you do a little search, I'm sure you'll be able to find the files.
To upload the files onto your LG LN735, you will need either ActiveSync for windows xp or Windows Mobile Device Center for Vista. (you can download these program for free).
Now just CUT and Paste the map folders off your GPS onto your computer (this way you have some sort of backup). The map folders are located "/residentflash/lge/lgenavi" on your GPS unit.
Now just copy and paste the new map files (Destinator 2009 q3)back onto your GPS. Be warned, this process will take over 3.5 hours.
