Ice maker stopped making/dropping ice. Had a piece stuck in the 'teeth' used to push ice out of tray. Removed it, has not made ice since. Manually filled the ice tray, it froze, would not **** it into the bucket. Need to remove it so I can thaw and reset the whole unit. I have turned off power to the ice maker, to the refrigerator and unplugged it. None of these has reset the unit.

You did remember to turn it back on? Mine has a handle that detects when the tray is full and you flip it up to turn it off and down to turn it on. Good Luck

make sure the ice maker is turned on, push and hold the little round button on the front for 15 seconda and see if it starts up an cycles. Also check to make sure the fill tube isn't clogged to the ice maker and another thing to check is the water valve.

If your water valve is good and your filter is not in need of replacing then you probable need a new icemaker, yes.
