Hold your Power-Button (Top-Right down), while holding it... press the bottom left center button (the "home" button)... Do Not let go of either... after ~10 seconds..the device will completely reboot.

I had the same problem the other morning. All I wanted to dowas go back to sleep, but the alarm would not shut off. Here is how to fix it: Go into the clock, then alarm clock and click the menu button, then settings.
Go to Slide Button Behavior, which will give you threeoptions, choose none. Now, when your alarm goes off there will be a pop up and you can either choosedismiss or snooze.
