I don't know exactly which model of the Thomson Lyra you have, but you can visit the Support page on their website, find your particular player model, and download software updates that might help solve this problem.

How do I add music files to my Thomson Lyra jukebox PDP2860

The best way would be to use the software that comes with the Lyra but if you dont have/use it then you simply drag and drop the files as you do with the films.
The difference being that you must manually 'Profile Contents' which is in the 'Audio' menu, if you use the drag and drop method whereas the software does this automatically.
Your files will magically appear when you have done this.

Neeed help

Try a format, Over a period of time your info can get corrupt from transering music back and forth. To format plug it in to usb. Go to my computer It shows up as a removably disc, usually drive f: Right click on drive f: (or the approriate drive) and click format. Let me know what happens, you will have reload the player, also try bypassing the software you are using to tranfer, by opening up drive f: and clicking and dragging your music into it , or you can copy and paste it into drive f: L8R

Error message turning on

Is it possible you deleted system files along with other files by mistake? It's a very common problem, and it would be good to know what causes this since some people say its because the Lyra allows you to delete system files which screws the device. I heard of someone that called Thomson helpline with this problem and got his replaced, so it wouldn't hurt to try. RCA has this page on the problem: http://www.rcaaudiovideo.com/Cultures/en-US/RLDetail.html?ArticleNum=112&PC= It might help... And there's this program that is said to help with the formatting, get it here along with some instructions: http://www.techolio.com/rd2780_upgrade/ Good luck!
