It has sound but no picture
Back-light problem. Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis.

With all the listed sets, itis most likely the y-drive(sus) board. The only problem is that this board usually fails when the horz.buffer ic's fail, which is usually part of the plasma display. This was a semi-common problem with this set.The best bet is to find a new set, since the parts alone will exceed the cost of a new one.Pioneer or nec seem to be the most reliable that i have seen.

this could be one of two problem. first, check if you have back light. If you do then the problem is with the M/B. Second, if you don't have back light then the inverter is bad and needs to be replace.
SOURCE: no picture or sound, light comes on in the front and have to unplug tv to turn it off.
I had this exact problem on my Vizio 47" HDTV. I removed the speakers and all the screws on the back cover. Took the cover off and located the fuses on the largest circuit board. The are in the upper right hand corner of the board. There are 3 of them in a row labeled LF 1.5, LF 3.0 and LF 3.0. The are white in color with copper ends. I took a volt meter and measured continuity across all fuses individually and found the LF 1.5 to be blown. The guy at the electronics store sold me a barrel 1.5A fuse and told me to soldier it across the top of the blown fuse. It took an extra set of hands but the TV works perfectly.

This is often called the "Soap Opera" effect...I had a similar problem and found that changing the settings helped tremendously. Here are the settings I use:
Picture Mode: Movie
Backlight: 18
Brightness: 49
Contrast: 52
Color: 42
Tint: 2
Sharpness: 3
Advanced Video
Noise Reduction: strong
Color enhancement: off
Advanced Adaptive Luma: Off
Enhanced Contrast Rato: off
Color Temperature: Normal
Red: 121
Green: 128
Blue: 118
Smooth Motion Effect: low
Real Cinema Mode: Precision
Also, there's a great thread on the Soap Opera effect here:

There is a problem with the video logic board. You could take it to a repair shop or diagnose it yourself with a multi-meter looking for blown up capacitors/burnt parts.
