I'm going ahead and asking a question, but I don't see the reason for this site. No anwers to the many questions on my situation. Anyway, I have a Transonic 6000T GPS which needs to be registered. I go to the Navigon website and it doesn't have this item listed for registration. So, how do I register this item so that I can get an ID to continue with the setting of the GPA? Thanks.

If you turn it off and then turn it on it should work. If it so frozen that you can't turn it off, Then unplug it from the power source the so it has to turn off. Then wait an hour or so and then turn it on. Kinda like rebooting a coumputer

SOURCE: Hello. Left my Navigon 2100 (Canada 310) plugged
In your unit the default map is embedded in the operating system / firmware - its files aren't accessible thru the USB connection, which gives access only to the files on the SD card. If the map is still missing after the update then the defect is hardware - the memory chip that stores the map is defective. This is unfixable since the cost of the repair would be higher than for a whole new unit.
Your only hope to make it work is to get a new map from here
http://www.navigon.com/portal/int/karten_services/freshmaps.html
load it in
a new 2GB SD card that will be used for it and only it and then configure the unit to use it: Option, Settings, Current Map.
