SOURCE: MSI 848p Neo-v doesn't boot. Beep code error

Hi, your problem might be due to a faulty RAM or Video Crad, try to clean first your RAm and put it back again, then boot up. If the step don't solve the problem then used a different RAM instead, if it doesn't still solve the problem replace your video card with a new one for testing to know if your VGA is working fine. Also check if your PSU is working. Goodluck with that.

SOURCE: graphics still working, Motherboard booting.

you can try to clear the cmos.
if this not works so i think your pci express card slot are dead.
The only thing you can do is to change the motherboard.
maybe you find the same motherboard cheap on ebay.

At start up, before windows loads, a consistent series of annoying beeping occurs....

If they're occurring right as you turn the computer on, it's your Power On Self Test (aka POST) letting you know. Since I can't be more specific, here's a synopsis of POST beeps:

One single beep followed by three, four, or five beeps -- System-board problems, possibly with DMA, CMOS setup chip, timer, or system bus. The computer usually won't boot when this is the problem.

Two beeps -- The POST numeric code is displayed on the monitor, usually nothing to be concerned about, but you might google the code on another computer and see what you get.

Two beeps followed be three, four, or five beeps -- First 64K of RAM has errors. Solution is to replace RAM.

Three beeps followed by three, four, or five beeps -- Keyboard controller failed or video controller failed. Either you won't be able to see or type with this error.

Four beeps followed by three, four, or five beeps -- Problem with serial or parallel ports, system timer, or time of day. Check your BIOS settings (usually F2 at start up) to make sure everything is correct.

Continuous beeps - problem with power supply. Probably won't do much with this error. At the very best, your computer will boot and run very, very slowly.

Hope that helped.

Gigabyte GA-945P-S3 short beep codes on cold boot. Tried reseating RAM, didn't help. system runs fine after beeping stops

Using the manual for the Gigabyte GA-945P-S3 MB. Go to page 71 & you'll see bios beep codes for your board: AWARD BIOS Beep Codes 1 short: System boots successfully 2 short: CMOS setting error 1 long 1 short: DRAM or M/B error 1 long 2 short: Monitor or display card error 1 long 3 short: Keyboard error 1 long 9 short: BIOS ROM error Continuous long beeps: DRAM error Continuous short beeps: Power error As you can see there isn't a code for three short beeps. When you boot your system try to pause your boot up screen. See if the bios is reporting the correct total of memory in your system. Bios codes from the link below. http://www.computerhope.com/beep.htm#05 3 beeps for the AMI bios code reports Base 64K RAM failure. You can test your memory. Go to memtest.org Scroll down the site to just under the three screen shots. Download Memtest86+ V2.11 You have a choice in making a bootable floppy disk or a bootable CD-ROM disk. Once completed you boot your system to the testing program. Memtest will check your system memory. This should help. Thanks for using FixYa! Mike
