Why does my Blodgett conv oven not turning on when I close the door?

Door switch, gas valve, temperature control, selector switch?

Model and serial numbers will help

open burner panel and checked for door switch first ....good luck

The oven is designed to turn off the fan if the door is left open too long. I think it is a protection to avoid injury to the user due to heat circulation. It might be best to turn down the heat setting when opening the oven for long periods whilst the cooking is on. If you want the manual it can be downloaded from this site. see page 23.

that is a door switch which locate bottom of panel. If that close ignite will ignite, if the door open the pilot will stop. Hope it help ..good luck

door switch need to be checked or repalce. you can put 2 wires connect together and turn on see motor is running, if it run that mean switch is bac...good luck.

Fan is on when first turn on?? Also there is a door switch will click when close it ..check those first and let me kknow....

The serial number is under the left side door behind the cover. Open the doors take out the two phillips head screws which go into the top of the lower cover, one on each end just inside the door hinge, the lower cover will remove to the front.

had the same problem, safety gas valve is sticking get a small hammer and tap saftey valve. Just bought a new saftey valve about 3 weeks ago pilot light lite but now flame. I have a blodgett oven made in the 60s. Blodgett is getting away from there swithes that they have been replacing them with a replaceable thermocouple.made by robert shaw. My supplier said that they are not on the market yet. oops! good luck from oswego ny pizza villa.

Switch is in COOL DOWN position. Set to COOK.
