To Stephen Brisois. You answered my question on or about Aug. 30th. Relaceing thermostat with a Honeywell RTH3100C. Everything sounds good, but I only have 4 wires coming in. White, orange, green and yellow. If I follow your instructions and don't have a red wire on R or a C (Common second Leg blue)

Someone has done some creative wiring to your system. You will have to get into the air handler / A/C and see where each of thoes wires are connected. I would call a professional to avoid any damage due to miss wiring.

Wiring diagram thermostats

Look at the base plate just below the w position. This is the correct placement for heat pumps.

Im in a apartment just moved In and the honeywell thermostate im replacing with a hunter brand, non-programmable thermostate, there was only 3 wires hooked up, out of the electrical wiring theres a red...

Need to know if you have central air as well. If you don't, then hook up the Red to R, White to W. you @ least have heat. any other wires you hook up will be dependent on what type of system you have ie boiler, forced air, etc.

I am changing an old thermostat, and converting it in to a honeywell RTH2310B. The original thermostate has 3 wires, in red, black, and white. The new one has white, yellow, and green. How do I proceed?

Hi, the new stat should have rh, and rc, with a jumper wire on it. leave it on, and connect your red to either one. Connect white to W, and the black the must be using for fan, so connect it to G, if it was being used on the other stat. If it wasn't, tape it off. You should be up and running. I take it this is a heat only application.

Wc wiring on thermostat

sounds like you have a heat pump the w2 on old thermostat is for a second stage heat. If you can give me a little more information on type of system you have (forced air furnace with heat/cool, Heat pump or boiler)? How many wires are on old thermostat? Is it a no programmable or programmable? How old is the furnace?

Honeywell thermostat

If you have a forced air furnace with an air conditioner attached make sure you have a jumper wire between Rh and Rc. If the Bryant thermostat had a wire hooked up to C you do not want to hook this up to Rc. Just cap it off and put it back in the wall or disconnect that wire down in the furnace.
