How to fix no sound audio on Panasonic viera when connected from hdmi 3 port to Sony bluray BDP s480 hdmi port?

Well, first make sure you don't inadvertently have the "mute" control on your DVD player turned to the "on" position. Does it work on HDMI 1 or 2? Play with it a bit. Connect it to other TV HDMI inputs and see what happens. Obviously, the video is getting through, just not audio. HDMI inputs on your TV carry both (unless there is a problem with one of them), as does the HDMI output on your Blue ray. Also, make sure the HDMI OUTPUT from your DVD is connected to the HDMI INPUT of your TV.

HDMI Inputs broke? Can't seem to get a signal

Cheap way to get around it is to get a converter that takes your HDMI signals and changes them to other format such as composite signals that may be accepted by your set. If your set has other types of video inputs you might want to check this out. Otherwise, a trip to repair shop is in order.

I cannot access 2 of the3 hdmi inputs with the remote

I have encountered this before also. If you look around in the various settings menus there should be a place to enable/disable the various inputs. I cannot give you the exact location of the setting as it varies by tv make and model but regardless should not be too hard to find with a bit of searching.

My emerson tv say device control inactive

John, I've ran into this issue a couple of times myself. In most cases, there are easy fixes to the issue. #1, Does your TV have multiple HDMI inputs? They may be labeled HDMI1, or HDMI2, etc. I know this sounds strange, but many people don't realize that the signal source is important. #2, Connect the cord, from another device that you know works(laptop-monitor) to eliminate the possibility that your HDMI cord is bad. #3, (Probably most common) The PS3 is not the most stable platform when using the HDMI cord. Remember that the PS3 was one of the "pioneering" platforms using the HDMI connection. As such, the "auto-detect" feature is sometimes confused when switching between RCA inputs, and HDMI input. (Happens every time actually) To fix this, try a video reset on your PS3 system. It's fast, easy, and doesn't effect anything except the video/audio settings. I'll put in a link to get you started in that direction. It is the same with all models of PS3. Good luck! ^^

Hdmi input not working

Did you switch the inputs to match the input you were on? The HDMI ports will be labeled 1,2,3 or something like that. With the remote select the input that you would like and that you are plugged into. That should fix the problem.

I have been using the tv with my sony ps3 to play my blueray dvd's etc. using an HDMI cable all of a sudden I cannot get a picture anymore. I think maybe my HDMI input on TV has gone bad. Can I...

yes you can replace the input board, but that is fairly expensive. HDMI cables can go bad, have you tried a different HDMI cable? Also try hooking up another device to the HDMI input to see if it might be in the Playstation3.

I cannot get the Input 3 HDMI port to work. The Input 3 Componet videoworks, but when I unplug the componet video and put in HDMI port nothing works. I do have something else in the HDMI Input 1 port...

Hi.

To start ensure that each time you connect or disconnect the HDMI ports both TV and connected device are off.

Also ensure that HDMI input is active, as detailed here.

HDMI connectors carry voltage, and connecting the HDMI cable while TV or device is on may easily damage the HDMI port, making it unusable.

The HDMI 3 and Component 3 are separate input. The component input may work, and HDMI port may still be defective.

To test the port do the following:

Disconnect TV power cord, and connected device (eg. Receiver, DVD etc.).
Leave units disconnected for five minutes.

While power is disconnected, test connecting on port three a device that was previously working on HDMI 1. Also use a cable that you know is working.

Connect back power with HDMI cable already connected. If HDMI 3 is still not detected, then the port is defective.

In that case ring Pioneer at the number listed on the owners manual. This model is often advertised as only two HDMI inputs. Call Pioneer to ensure the third port can be enabled.

Hdmi input on pioneer pdp-r04u doesn't work. The component cables work, but not the HDMI. The digital audio works.

the r04u comes factory with hdmi DISABLED, hook up your hdmi device, and turn r04u to the hdmi  input (input 1 or input 3)  then:
To activate the HDMI terminal:

2 Press /  to select “Option”, and then press
ENTER.
3 Press /  to select “HDMI Input”, and then press
ENTER.
4 Press /  to select “Setting”, and then press
