I had the same problem with my fargo dtc 550.
I changed the "O" Ring rubber attached to the printhead and that solved the problem. No more head lift errors.

Try opening the top portion of the printer then push it down again. the sensor might be detecting that the head is open

Solution to head lift error problem on my Fargo printer

You don't mention which printer model you have, but we mostly see that error on old DTC5xx printers. It is usually caused when a rubber o-ring within the printer has failed (broken), and the head-lift motor no longer has the necessary connection to the head-lift mechanism.

Error code u52

I solved this on mine by removing and reinstalling the print head.
1. Remove and set aside the ink cartidges (don't make a mess)
2. lift the gray print head lock lever that is to the left of where the ink cartridges go.
3. Lift out the print head out without touching the ink ports inside, the contacts on the back, or the print nozzles on the bottom. The print head is the grey thing with circular ink ports that seat the ink cartridges. you can find good pictures in the below service manual get it it will be helpful you can download it from the below link:

Am not able to print anything and on the screen popup a window that shows ERROR B200. how can I solve the problem?

Hello,
this means that you have print head monitor error, it is also shown as 11 blinks of orange LED.

To solve the problem you need to replace print head! Code: Print head (QY6-0061)

Hope that helps!

Canon mp600 showing error code 6A00

6A00 Is the code for a paper path feed error. this is sometimes caused by the purge unit becoming clogged with debris. The purge unit sits underneath the cartridge print head and is designed to keep the ink flowing and clear. Turn the printer on, lift the lid so the cartridges move to the center and turn off. Look where the cartridges normally sit and you will see a sponge housed in a plastic frame. Move this frame back and forward, remove the cartridges and replace them, then turn the printer back on.
If this does not solve the problem then unfortunately a replacement printer of a service call to canon is un-avoidable.
I hope this helps Regards GM

Cannon MP510 printer has Error, - The type of print head

I solved this on mine by removing and reinstalling the print head.
1. Remove and set aside the ink cartidges (don't make a mess)
2. lift the gray print head lock lever that is to the left of where the ink cartridges go.
3. Lift out the print head out without touching the ink ports inside, the contacts on the back, or the print nozzles on the bottom. The print head is the grey thing with circular ink ports that seat the ink cartridges. there are good pictures in the PDF of the Easy Setup Instructions available on the Canon Printer website. Look under the printer, then support, then downloads: http://gdlp01.c-wss.com/gds/0900002776/mp510_esi_us_v2.pdf .
4. Put the print head back in, lock the lever, reinstall the cartridges in the roper positions. And voila!
If this doesn't work you may actually need a new print head.

Error/ Head Lift Error

If you replaced the o-ring on the headlift assembly and that did not solve the problem, most likely you may have a sensor out that controls the position of the head lift.
