I want to stop the date and time on the left hand side of the screen from constantly popping up. I also want to stop charms on the right hand side of screen to stop popping up constantly. As I find these 2 things happening very annoying as it is so often and when this happens I have no use of my laptop. I can't move cursor or scroll and continue with what I'm doing.
Sounds like somebody put a nasty virus on your Pc known as Windows 8. Ha just kidding but it is lousy. I run Linux Mint so I don't have to deal with such junk. At the Microsoft Community others are talking about your issue , maybe you can get some answers there. Good Luck.
want to disable the charm screen from popups
SOURCE: Cursor will move to another part of the screen-no apparent reason
This is often caused by the "joystick" in the middle of the keyboard or the touchpad. If you can disable them individually in the control panel and use an external mouse, you may be able to narrow down the situation. Cleaning the touchpad and blowing out the keyboard around the joystick may clear it up.
SOURCE: Synaptics Touchpad Enhancements stops working
Hi!
I resently had the same problem on my HP laptop and search Google for possible solutions. No solution works until I tried Windovs Update and then got 5 alternatives - Synaptics PS/2 port TouchPad was one of them. I update and restart and finally solve this problem.

SOURCE: I can't stop the arrow keys from scrolling the
The constant scrolling makes me think at a blocked mouse-wheel on a regular mouse for a PC.
On your Acer Notebook that "blocked mouse-wheel" means a dirt on your cursor-pad or a defective sensor on the same pad.
To fix it start by cleaning the cursor-pad with a piece of soft cloth soaked a little bit in a computer cleaning fluid (usually sold at any computer store) or soaked by few drops of alcohol.
Before any cleaning step is taken TURN OFF and UNPLUG YOUR DEVICE!
After the cleaning operation was done let it dry for about five minutes before you will plug again the power cord and you will restart your notebook.
If problem persists there's no other solution than unscrew the screw and wide open your Acer and inspect the cursor-pad. There might be a tiny little dirt stuck on the pad sensors.
DO NOT PERFORM THIS OPERATION IF THE DEVICE IS UNDER WARRANTY TERMS!!!
Any unscrewed screw voids the warranty!
Blow air very gently over the exposed sensors and be careful do not spread saliva the same time. Use instead a special spray for cleaning the keypads - sold also at the computer stores.
If the air blowing will not clean the sensors or if the problem persists think of a cursor-pad replacement for your Acer Notebook... This is the ultimate solution.
It is possible you might have picked up a virus, or a bad device driver. Try a system restore taking the computer back in time before this happened, may resolve the issue.
