The code is related to it not being able to drain. The most common cause is suds in the drum from the wrong detergent. One of the other things that can cause this is the drain pump is plugged with something like a sock or other debris. If you want to drain it, you can try to move the drain hose to a lower level and see if gravity will drain it. This might not work if something is physically blocking the drain. You can also use a wet and dry vacuum cleaner to draw out the water through the drain hose. IF that does not work then you have to remove the bottom panel under the door and locate the drain cap. WHEN YOU REMOVE THIS ALL THE WATER COMES OUT. Get ready with something to catch the water. When you take the plug off, there is a filter or trap that you can clean. Once you have done this then you should be able to run the rinse and spin drain to get the machine back in order after you put the plug back in.

humming noise suggests a foreign object in the pump. crack open filter and drain water into a shallow tray. repeat till empty. remove filter completely and clean it. check if something stuck in pump impellor. this should be visible by looking into the filter hole

SOURCE: E13 error- can't unlock the door

To manually unlock the door lock system, perform the following steps:
1. Unplug the power cord from the outlet.
2. Remove the lower toe panel.
3. Reach up along the inside of the front panel and locate the bottom of the door latch assembly.
4. Located on the bottom of the door latch assembly is a teardrop shaped tab. Gently pull the tab down approximately 1/4 inch, or until a click is heard.
5. The door may now be manually opened.

SOURCE: door locked and won't open

Hello and welcome to fixya. The "E13" error code on the WFMC series Bosch washer`s refer to a drainage problem as you may or may not already know. ( or in Bosch terms "pump time exceeded" ) What you may have is either a clogged pump, improper detergent being used, ( must use "HE"/lo-sudsing detergent ) hence suds not allowing a proper drain cycle, or wires loose at the pump...the later being the least likely. You haven`t mentioned if you`ve checked the pump...just hoses as you did mention. Anyway, here`s the most likely way to remedy a E13 code. **Unplug the washer from the wall or turn off the breaker before attempting any repairs** Get some towels and if possible a wet/dry vac. If the machine drained, it won't be too bad. If your machine is stuck full of water, I can't say, hopefully you won't get wet. ( maybe you`re lucky enough to be close to a floor drain ) Locate the round door on the front of the machine (about 6" in diameter, lower right corner) Find a drill bit or small screwdriver that fits in the hole in the round door. Insert the bit into the hole in the door. It will push in a tab, it doesn't take much force. Rotate the hole (clockwise) to 6'oclock and it should come free. (the edges are very sharp so be careful or wear chain-mail gloves). Once the door is out of the way you'll be greeted by a 3-4" plastic cap with wings so you can unscrew it by hand. ( you should also see a red ring with a string attached, if you pull this the door should unlatch, but getting the water out first is usually a good plan ) There is a small collector lip at the bottom of the cap, that is where you can hold the wet/dry vac to catch the water. Unscrew slowly so you don't get flooded, until it is unscrewed all the way out. Now pull out the trap and visually inspect the inside of the pump as well as the filter/trap. Hopefully you'll find the item/debris that initiated the error code. After removing any debris or obstruction`s re-install the button trap/lint filter and plug the washer in to power or reset the breaker and give it a test. Run a load and watch for leaks. Leave the pump access door off until you are sure you screwed the cap in tight and there are no leaks. Ultimately you may have a faulty drain pump, but I would certainly start by performing the things I listed first. Let me know if you require further assistance and if not and this indeed solves your problem, please rate the solution I provided accordingly. Thank you for coming to "fixya" and good luck. macmarkus :)

SOURCE: Error code E04? Doesn't drain or spin. Machine

SEIMENS FRONT LOADER ULTRA SENSE DRAINING PROBLEM

On my SEIMENS washer, which is about the same as BOSCH, the drain problem seems to be usually a small sock jammed in the intake of the drain pump, or possibly in a hose before the pump. I found a quarter and a couple of staples in the attached settlement area where junk settles to avoid jamming the pump. Also a lot of dirt.

On the lower front under the door, while facing the washer, is a round plate with a little hole in it. Put something sturdy, a little bigger than a toothpick in there, and rotate the plate about a 16th of a turn, maybe a little more, and it comes off.

Take duct tape or similar and tape up the edges of the hole and a nearly vertical bar in the hold on the left side, because the edges will cut your hand, like they did mine.

Inside the hole you will see a black turn knob inside. Turn it left very slowly, only after you figure out where the water will go, probably a small bucket or two of it. I used a 4" funnel which got most of it, I think, funneling into the bucket. Maybe you can be more creative, but it is what was at hand. Still got water on the floor out of the garage into the street. Turn left slowly, so it doesn't dump water outside of the funnel. You will see the water is brown, silt, dirt and stuff.

If you get a lot of water out, that means the blockage is probably at the pump. If you don't get water out, the blockage is probably in the hoses from the washer, which means you need to undo hose clamps going into the pump and clear the blockage. That is harder.

Most likely it is something in the pump area itself.

After most or all of the water is gone, and it doesn't seem to unscrew any more, tug on it and it will come out exposing the pump and probably the sock.

Remove the sock, and check the pump impellors to make sure they are intact. If gone, that means a new impellor and probably a pump. Then move the impellor, it should click as it moves and stop. If it does, you have found the problem. Sock blocking the outlet.

Carefully clean out the **** inside the pump settlement area. If you leave any of the sandy gritty clumpy stuff it can ruin your pump. Also clean the plastic thingy you pulled out, and make sure the threads and sealing surfaces are clean there too.

Then screw it back in firmly, and start the washer, without clothes. I would just fill it up, starting the cycle, until it starts to agitate, then go to the drain position

With luck, it will now drain. .

This will save you a service call for something easy to fix yourself.

Washing Machines will not rinse or spin

If the water won't drain out of your washing machine, either something is stuck in the drain hose or pump, or the pump is broken. Both fixes are simple if you're even just a little bit handy with tools. We're showing the repair on a Maytag washing machine.
What is wrong with a washer that does not spin?
If your washer fills with water but doesn't agitate, the problem is likely to be a faulty lid switch, a broken belt, or a problem with the motor. (Note: Direct-drivewashing machines do not have belts.) To diagnose the problem, do the following: 1Check the washing machine's spin cycle.

What causes a washing machine not to drain and spin?
If the washer won't drain there might be a clogged pump or hose. It's common for small socks or other small clothing items to get into the water drain system and clog the hose leading to the pump or the pump itself. Remove the hoses from the pump in order to remove the article of clothing.

Bosch E13 error on washer - shows e-13 and door will not open.

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

E13 error in your Bosch WFMC washer is a drain error and is displayed when the drain time exceeds & the washer is unable to drain so the door won't open sometimes when this error is displayed. You will have to clean the drain trap in the bottom right hand corner. You can stick a straighten paper clip in the access panel located inside the front bottom panel through the whole and then turn the access panel counter clockwise to unscrew the plastic drain cap behind it. After everything is cleaned and the error returns then replacing the drain pump is recommended repair. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

Bosch Vision 500 washer won't fill with water. i! Yesterday we got a E13 error with the washer. The door wouldn't unlock, so I removed the front panel to unlock it manually. I also cleaned out...

Hi

You are right, E13 is a long drain time error and to solve this issue the pump filter assembly should be cleaned completely. There is a tiny hole you can stick a pin through in the access panel on the lower front right corner. Push a pin through the whole and turn the access panel counter clockwise and it will remove so that you can unscrew the plastic drain cap behind it. Remove the plastic drain cap and clear the drain behind it. After doing all these things if the issue returns then it means the drain pump is faulty and should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

Control lock light will not go off.

Do you have any error codes?

Does water remain in the washer after the final spin?
If water remains in the washer after the final spin, then the door will not unlock. Drain/Spin or Spin Only to remove any remaining water from the washer. The door should unlock at the end of the cycle.
Is the door locked and the Add A Garment light on?
If the Add A Garment light is on, then the washer door will unlock after the Pause/Cancel button is pressed once. Pressing the Start button will restart the washer at the same point where it left off in the cycle.
Is the door locked and the Add A Garment light off?
If the Add A Garment light is off, then the washer door will unlock after the Pause/Cancel button is pressed twice. The door will not immediately unlock while the cycle is running due to a possible high-water level in the washer, high-water temperature, tumbling or spinning. It may take up to five minutes for the washer to stop spinning and draining before the door will unlock. You will hear the door click when it unlocks.
If Pause/Cancel does not work:
  1. Unplug washer or disconnect power for one minute.
  2. Plug in washer or reconnect power.
  3. Re-select the cycle and press Start.
NOTE: If the error remains on the display, call for service.

I get an error code: F dU and my washer won't drain properly

I too, had the same issue with the door not opening. My solution was to unplug the power cord and then plug it back in and press the green button's as if to start a cycle and while it starts putting water into the washer I put my knee and weight into the door lock area and held pressure from my knee and press the red stop button until the lights went out, and I took my knee off the door lock area and opened the door!!! No taking off the lower panel.
If this works for you too please email me [email protected].

Door stuck Locked Control Locked light on

Try unplugging the washer for at 30 minutes to reset the computer, first. If this proves unsuccessful, you can retrieve you clothes by using the manual release. The following link explains how:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r622155-kenmore_elite_whirlpool_duet_door_jammed

Once you retrieve your clothes, try running diagnostics on it. You can envoke the diagnostic sequence by selecting DRAIN/SPIN, NO/SPIN and then pressing any button under OPTIONS 4 times (must be the same button). The display should go to "C00" as the washer begins a sequence of tests that checks the fill functions, door lock, dispenser functions, motor speed, spin and drain. Allow the washer to run through the entire sequence and shut off. If anything is wrong an error code should be generated. Hopefully, all you had was a minor glitch. Let me know how things turn out. I hope this helps you.
