We were about to snorkel and when the camera was submerged in water (less than feet), it didn't turn on anymore. It happened before ( my brother had it fixed) but now it happened again. It's really disappointing. The whole time we were at the beach, we weren't able to get any shots because it.
My mom has the olympus camera. I asked her if my friend and I could try it in underwater in my pool for the first time. She said yes, and be careful with it. We did and it worked like a charm! great quality and everything! Right when we got out, i wiped the camera a little on the lense to dry it off just in case no water droplets could dry on it and make it dirty. Then i put it in the case. I went to my friends house later with it, and video taped a 15 second video. literally 15 seconds. Then i put it back in the pouch again. Then, i rode back to my house on my bike with it in the pouch in my bike basket. I went up the sidewalk curbs slowly and carefully making sure it wouldn't bounce up and down and brake. When I got home, I turned it on, and it wouldn't turn on!? My mom got mad, and charged it the whole night just in case. The following morning I turned it on to see if it worked. And it did! I turned it off again. literally 10 minutes later, it didnt turn on again! Its soooo Frusturating! Please help me! I want to use again! My mom is going to kill me!!!!! Please answer!
Water and camera do not mix, water corrodes electrical contacts. I would suggest if you are taking a camera around water to buy one of the new water proof camera. Also salt water contact on a camera is like an acid bath. All major camera manufactures repair shops will not repair water damage.
