My 2000 chevrolet z71 radio comes on and does not have sound i have changed the radio out with another delco radio recoded it turn it on has the same problem

Is the antanna pluged in?

try code 0000, this is the stock code, unless someone has changed it. also you can go to www.radio-code for info on all codes.

are u the original owner of the car ?if so do you still have the books that came with the car? look for the delco radio book !there should be a card in there with a code and instructions! if not the only wasy is to go to the dealer or a radio repair shop to have it unlocked!

Your radio is made by SIEMENS/VDO/DELCO and unfortunately DELCO codes are not obtainable for free (using the Serial Number) from anywhere on the Internet as access is required to the original factory database which is only available to the Main Dealer or one the larger professional Decode Services.
The alternative is for your radio to be taken/posted to a Decode Service or your local Car Radio / Audio Shop who will plug it into a laptop and electronically read/recode the memory chip (EEPROM)

Unfortunately  DELCO codes (including yours) will NOT be available for free (or cheap) from anywhere on the Internet as access is required to the original factory database…which is not commercially available..

Try your Main Dealer or a Decoding Service or your local Car Radio / Audio Shop (who are normally the cheapest option) who will connect it to a laptop to read/recode the memory chip (EEPROM)

Check your antenae connection on rear of radio...I know this is a pain but sometimesit comes loose.:)

TUNE THE STATION AND THEN PRESS AND HOLD THE BUTTON YOU WANT THAT STATION TO BE AND RELEASE IT AFTER 3-5 SECONDS. THEN CHANGE THE STATION TO THE NEXT ONE AND REPEAT. I HOPE THIS HELPS YOU. GOOD LUCK.

Turn the radio off. Push the set button until the : blinks. Push scan to change the hours and the seek to change the minutes. When complete, push the set button again and your done.

I would change transmission fluid and differential fluids. check to see if it has a fuel filter also I know they stopped putting an inline filter somewhere around your year model and just has one in tank that doesnt have to be changed. you can also change air filter and inside cabin air filter located behind glove box . The spark plugs are platinum good for 100,000 then tune up needs to be done. plugs and wires, use only ac delco platinum plugs and ac delco wires. a little more expensive but way better to me than the others. they have coil packs so there is no distributor cap or button to replace.

I don't know your experise when it comes to repair. This problem is normally a bad laser or spindle motor. You can clean the laser and spray a Cleaner/Lubricant into the openings on the bottom of the spindle motor. This is a common problem I see with this stereo when it comes to repair.
