1. Check if the heating roller thermistor.
Yes your MFP has had a fuser reload error. It's not permanent though. Sometimes the thermistors don't read the right temperature due to the thermistor getting excess toner built up on it or it gets moved away from the hot roller. This SC error usually can be reset by powering down the printer. It must be powered down correctly or you can corrupt the hard drive. Hold the power button down on the operation panel until the screen goes dark. Then, physically turn the power switch off on the side of the unit. Once the unit has completely powered down and all lights are off, toggle the power switch back on. The unit should power back up normally. If the SC 542 returns, you'll have to have a technician check the fuser out.
hi there, try to do the following: - make a program mode (SP 107)
if you dont know SP mode, press clear/resume button then 1, 0, 7 then clear/stop button for atleast 5seconds. *the monitor should appear 1.system 2.copy3. then press 1, then press 7,8,0,7 then # *the monitor should appear COUNTER RESET then press 1 to start, let it finished then turn off and on your machine., *the SC-542 should disappear
note: if this will not fixed the problem, there maybe a problem with your FUSING UNIT, check it!
To clear level A SC codes such as this SC541, you need to
Enter SP mode, and then turn the main power switch off and on, only.
Please check if the thermistors are the proper ones and are installed correctly in their position properly.
This is also useful for SC542.
Please check the thermostats and fusing lamps for open circuit.
