You will need to connect the speakers to the front channels as you would with any normal set(Speaker + to amp +, speaker - to amp -, etc) then you connect the special Bose equalizer through a tape monitor loop and always have the monitor loop engaged.

SOURCE: No sound from Left and Right front speakers

You didn't state it but I assume the other channels are functional?
The auxilliary channels are generally lower power and may even be serviced by a different voltage than the main amps. If it is so designed, you may have something as simple as a blown fuse for the main amp supply.
If the aux. channels are equal in power, the power supply may still be dividing the load so a fuse still could be at fault. The unit could also use integrated power amplifiers in which case, if two channels are operating from a single module it could be a module failure.
I don't see much chance of anyone repairing this system without examining it in the first person.

SOURCE: Speaker Detect error Left Rear

Hey there.

I had the same problem until i figured out that if u dont have surround speakers connected it will be a error when trying to configure the rear surround speakers.

So if u are running a 5.1 system and have hooked up ur surround speakers to the back surround speaker port u have to change them to the surround speaker port.

Hope this work for u

SOURCE: can I connect bose 901

There's good news and bad news. The bad news is that a multichannel receiver with Bose 901's will only sound right in STEREO on stereo analog material. For one thing, the other speakers around the room are not designed to recieve its Active Equalization and for another, if you engage your Tape Monitor you will not be able to play digital sources. Tape Monitor is for analog stereo material only and on most (all?) AV receivers it disables any digital inputs.

The good news. I have a setup similar to what I think you're trying to do and it works great!

A separate stereo amp for the 901's was my solution. I run a Carver AV-406 (5-channel amp) for my 901's in Front, 2 Subwoofers and the Rear Surround channel, with the Active EQ between the receiver Front L&R Outputs and the 901's amp channels. My receiver controls everything and just drives the Center and Surround speakers. You could get by with just a stereo amp for the 901's. A Carver M-200 is a good efficient amplifier that would have you cooking just fine (2x100W).

For connection I would run a pair of RCA cables from the Front L&R Audio Line OUT to the Active EQ's Line IN; then the EQ's Line OUT to a separate amp's Line IN. Attach the 901's to the new amp, run through the receiver's setup procedures for volume, etc and you're done.

How do I replace a speaker on my Bose Acoustimass 10 subwoofer?

The speaker probably needs not be replaced, only reconed or reconditioned. I would look into simplyspeakers.com or similar to get it done and then do the remounting yourself.

How to put together a double cube bose speaker

The Bose speakers with the cubes and bass module are all interconnected with a proprietary cable available from Bose, if lost you get a replacement by called 1-800-444-BOSE.
When you connect the speakers all wires run from the receiver to the base module first, then out to each of the speakers. All terminals on the bass module are labeled.
The Bose cubes are all identical and can be used in the front or back positions.
Try to keep them at ear level or aimed at the listening position for best sound.

Have this Bose system connected to my Yamaha a/v receiver

If you have it literally conencted the way you say not much good will happen.

The speaker OUTPUTs for the Yamaha feed the INPUTS on the Acoustimass Module then the satellites branch out of the Acoustimass Module's OUTPUTs.

Acoustimass module
Bose® recommends putting your Acoustimass module at the same end of the room as the
television monitor. To prevent interference, keep the module at least 2 feet (.6 m) from the
television.
• You may hide the Acoustimass module behind or under furniture, but do not block the
opening. Be sure there is at least 2 inches (5 cm) between the opening and any surface.
• If the opening faces the wall it increases the bass; if it faces away it decreases the bass.
For the most bass response, place the opening 2 to 3 inches (5 to 8 cm) from a wall or
corner.
• Stand the Acoustimass module vertically or horizontally (Figure 6). To stand it on the
cable connection end, remove the cover by gently pulling it away

Move the sub closer to a wall or corner to increase the bass.

This is a SYSTEM and as such is not designed to be pieced out or separated. I don't recommend that you try it that way. I doubt it will improve the sound.

How do I connect my Acoustimass® 5 Series III Stereo Speaker System to my Onkyo SR506 av receiver?

Well, first of all this speaker system is designed to give you a subwoofer where you do not have a sub-woofer output on your receiver/amp. However, that is not the case with the Onkyo. The way I would set it up (only because of the speakers you have) according to the Acoustimass Manual. You take the left and Right "Speaker" outputs to the Left and Right input on the Acoustimass and the speakers crossover does the rest. The Onkyo is designed to have a powered subwoofer so in this format you would just tell the receiver to turn off the sub channel which would tell the Onkyo to send the low end to LR. That should do it.

Can i hook up the bose wireless reciver for the rear speakers with a onkyo reciver

I don't see why not. Use any record out or if you can rear pre amp out connect to the input on the bose unit.

Low treble

I suspect that the speaker levels need to be set. You connected everything right - many people would not have connected the sats via the bass section (which has their high pass crossover and overload protection). But I am betting the HSU is turned up a bit on the high side.

Try this. Set all speakers to small, set all levels to 0. Play the receiver in stereo all mode. If the bass is strong, you need to turn the HSU down closer to a natural sound. Then use the speaker setup tone and adjust as needed.
