Probably carb? Automatic choke not working? Remove air filter and spray carb with cleaner, Make sure all parts move freely. With engine cold, check automatic choke position. Start and check function as it warms up.

You don't say what make of car but it's about the same for all. Your problem is the choke adjustment. The choke raises the idle when the car is cold and after warm up drops to normal. You are doing the chokes job when you hold the pedal down, once its warmed up the choke no longer functions till cold again. So check the choke and the high idle speed adjustment. Simple fix. try running the fault codes to check which sensor has been affected by the over heat .

I'm assuming the truck runs ok once it is warmed up. Sounds like you need to make some adjustments. The cold idle speed is set too high, and the choke is opening too fast. The cold idle should be around 1500 rpm and the choke should take at least 90 seconds to open depending on air temp.

You need to adjust the automatic choke. Your choke may not be opening fully. There is a fast idle cam linked to the choke to keep the throttle open more until the engine is warm. The idle mixture screw is part 37 in the picture, but get the choke adjusted right first, and you may not have to adjust the mixture screw. See adjustment procedures at link beloe.

try removing air filter and spaying CARB CLEANER in carb while holding open intake rub thouroughly with hand in side carb, start vehicle and run... spray more cleane and by hand throttle open and spray reinstall filte and runner good on open stretch of highway.

Your carberater is having problems getting the correct amount of fuel.Either a line or fuel filter is clogged or you need to have your carb. rebuilt.

these cars are carburated motors and need around 10 minutes to warm up because they operate at higher temperatures.

A large rubber hose feeds air to the large block with "RE-EGI" cast into it. Between that intake hose and the RE-EGI block, called the dynamic chamber, is the throttle valve. You can adjust the idle speed by adjusting a screw in the top of the throttle valve to 800 rpm.
