Why will my camera not turn on?

Camera needs to be serviced.

Your camera probably has a Lens Eror.

Turn off your Canon 1000D and remove the memory card, lens, battery and time/date secondary battery. The secondary battery is a small, round battery about the size of a dime found in the same compartment as the main battery. It is located in a vertical slot. Slide out the secondary battery by pressing your finger on the battery and pulling it toward you.

Place the body cap on your camera to keep dust out. Attach the front and back lens caps on your lens to prevent scratches and other damage.

Let the camera sit for 20 minutes. This will clear the camera's memory.

Place the date/time secondary battery and a fully charged primary battery in the camera and turn it on.

Press the shutter release button (the button you push to take a picture). If you are still receiving an Error 99, the problem is most likely caused by the camera body itself. The camera body must be serviced by a professional camera technician.

Turn the lens so that the side that attaches to the camera is upside down. Use the eraser or soft cloth to clean the lens contacts on the lens, being careful not to let any eraser scraps fall into the lens.

Reattach the lens to the camera. Turn on the camera and press the shutter release button. If you are receiving an Error 99, the error is most likely caused by the lens. Take the lens to a professional camera technician for repair.

1. Turn PC on.
2. Plug camera cable into Camera.
3. Plug camera cable USB end into computer USB port.
4. Turn on Camera... wait until camera show message 'USB, PC, Pictbridge'.
5. PC should be selected if not select by highlighting and press shutter button.
6. Press 'Shutter' button.
7. Window 'Autoplay' appears on PC. Select 'import' in Autoplay window.
8. Another window will ask you to name your picture folder. Give it a name.
9. The pictures download to the picture folder automatically.
10. Turn the camera off and disconnect cable from camera and from the PC
11. ENJOY!!

allienment of lens unit with the mother board/may be problem with the sensors of the lens unit

check menu options is reasonable and first solutions. maybe is stabilizer turned off and you got the message. read the camera manual carefully, there is described how to turn on and turn off stabilizer. in manual, troubleshooting chapter has many solutions for camera and try to find one for stabilizer.
if all this can't help you go to service, something is wrong with camera software.

my camera lens doesnt work every time i turn it on the screen stays on and then the lens error: M527-22 error comes up can you help me

If there is a memory card inside the cad slot, take it out first. Open the camera. When the "high temperature camera" error appears, after it goes off, "BLOW AIR INTO THE CARD SLOT BESIDE THE CAMERA SEVERAL TIMES. I have blown air manually by my mouth. Then you can put back the memory card back or you can just simply Turn-ON sa camera. See if it work. It works fine for my CX7530 (i got this idea thru trial & error). Stupid kodak service center won't help, they just want to service my camera for almost half the price that i bought mine, & even suggested that i  should buy a new one.
