Channel picker? I assume that is a channel changer right? Heh. Well, there are many, many, universal remotes. If you go to your local electronic store you can find some to suite your needs. Programming it is another story, but they call come with instructions.
Channel changer from the remote? or from the TV? if it is from the remote, that's an easy fix, take off the batteries open the back of the remote, clean the circute board the one that is painted green, clean the remote contact pads as well the one that has a black dot like thingy with cotton balls slightly damp in rubbing alcohol, let it dry put it back together and replace with a new battery.
have you tried to make any channel higher than 13 a favorite ch (program channels that you enjoy and save it) this can also be done on a cable converter box. and any time you want you can go through the loop of channel that you just saved . look at the booklet that came with remote

is the user's manual for a Phillips remote control. There is a list of
codes in it. They should be rather universal. There's also instructions
as to how to program it. I believe that there is a way to program it
without using the codes.

Double check ALL your ant wire connections. Then reprogram the converter to check for stations again. If that doesn't work then reposition your antenna and reprogram again.
I was told that in order to view 2 different channels at the same time u have to subscribe to SKYCable and use the digital input instead of the antenna input and the antenna input you will have to use the regular antenna since there is only one tuner in the TV
