I would start by shutting the system down and pulling out the CMOS battery on the motherboard for 30 seconds (it looks like a nickel on the motherboard inside the computer.) Once you put the battery back in and turn it on, that will reset the BIOS to defaults and hopefully clear out any data errors. If that doesn't resolve it, there's a good chance the issue lies in the motherboard iteself (or at least the BIOS EEPROM.)
To reset BIOS take the battery out, if that does not work you will have to reset jumper J1. In case nothing worked to reset BIOS you can use thrid party software from Hiren's Boot CD to reset the password. You've got Kill CMOS on there, for example which wipes out CMOS. Here's the download link to the entire CD: http://www.hirensbootcd.org/download/Hirens.BootCD.12.0.zip
To reset the BIOS read the information from this link.
In case of your laptop the easiest method would be using software from Hiren's Boot CD as it's pretty hard to open it up and reach for the CMOS battery or the jumper.
Select the correct model number for your mainboard or motherboard and download the user manual for the same. It has details on how to reset the cmos or the board using the jumper settings
I had a similar experience after upgrading my RAM. When you reset your CMOS and have default settings maybe you should check if your RAM timings are correct. I could not get mine to load with both sticks in until I fixed the timings from the default settings.
