Sim Card Problem In LG Vu

The LG Vu that I have has a problem. When I insert the SIM card and turn the phone on it still says Insert Smartchip. My SIM card is a 3G SIM card starts with 89014104. Please Help Me!!!

This happened to me too. A temporary fix is turn off your phone and put it in front of a really cold air conditioner for about ten minutes. Then turn it on but make sure you keep it in front of the ac to keep it working. What happened is your sim card reader has a thermal problem so you will need to take it in unless you want to spend all your time in front of the ac (which will get expensive...)

I have an LG phone I have a problem with it I put the sim card I can recieve calls and sms messages but I can not make calls from it.
Please not that this phone is bought from holland and I am living in Qatar Doha and using Qatari sim card

try taking out the sim card and wiping it with a cloth then blowing on where the sim is placed. Hopefully this will work ;) please rate :)

It says insert smartchip and I can only access emergency screen
if you are trying to use the phone with a sim card that you dont usually use with that phone it is most likely locked to another phone take it to your service provider and ask them to unlock it to use on your lg vu . If its your regular sim card then sim card reader is malfunctioning . you will need to have it fixed

I bought my lg vu unlocked. Worked great untili turned it off then back on and it says insert smartchip. I use a tmobile sim card.What can I do. LG wont do anything because its unlocked and it voids...

I got a unlock lg phone.it was working for about 3weeks now until the other day it kept saying that insert smartchip.my phone comapny already replaced my sim card.so is it the phone thats messed up
It may be due to network lock,

My LG Vu today decided to say "Insert Smartchip" and I only have the "emergency" button available. I have tunred it around and around, and nothing works, any other ideas?
I had mine in upside down and that caused it to say insert smartchip.....could be a back sim card. If you have another phone test out the sim card in that phone or have your service provider help check the sim card

It asks for me to Insert my SmartChip when it's already in there, what do I do?
Turn off the phone. Take the battery and Sim Card out. Make sure there is no dust or dirt of where the Sim Card goes. Blow air (from your mouth) of where the Sim Card goes. Sometimes rubbing a soft pencil eraser on the Sim Card contact points can help. Then place the Sim Card back in the phone. Make sure it is in the right position; copper contacts facing downward. Put the battery back in your phone. Turn it on, and see if the smartchip rejected goes away.

If not you may need to contact your Phone Provider’s Tech Support to troubleshoot and confirm that you may need a PUK reset code to register or you may need a new Sim Card, as they do fail from time to time.

if you take sim and battery out for about 15-20 minutes and boot up your phone, you should be fine, i talked to my stepdad, computer freak, he said it could be caused from me not ever shutting my phone off and it just getting hot
