1988... WHAT?
If you need a diagram for your 1988 blender, you posted in the wrong category.
If you need a diagram for your 1988 television, it may be time to consider a new one anyway, and it's still the wrong category.
From your choice of category, I assume it is a 1988 vehicle of some kind. YEAR, MAKE, MODEL, ENGINE (We are not clairvoyant.)

Could be the alternator - did you pull the fuses and check with a test light or meter ?
You can get the wiring diagrams in a Haynes book or on some of the auto parts online stores under repair help.

You will have a lot of work ahead of you. A 1985 and a 1988 are 2 different designed trucks. The 1985 harness is only compatable up to and including 1987. The 1988 harness would be compatable from 1988 up to I think 1997, 1994 for sure. You could make it work if you had a GM wiring diagram for both vehicles but I think you would be better off looking for a newer harness. Hope this helps.

you have the brake connection linkage backwards

You must have the brand and model number to help you. There are thousands of models out there. If it won't start there are few basics. Check fuse, check safety switches. To start most mowers, must have clutch depressed, PTO disengaged. Some older models you must be in the seat to start too. Check all these switches. If you can get brand and model number might be able to help you further with wiring diagrams.

save yourself some money and go get a lawn mower solenoid and find a way to mount it yourself. I have done a johnson outboard and a tigershark jet ski this way with no problems.

just use a volt meter and test around to find your powers and grounds. then look behind the speakers to find the wire colors and compare to behind the stereo
