SOURCE: HP 2600, magenta 2mm to

Just had almost exactly the same issue - except the Magenta was printing 2mm below where it should have been.

Went through all the recalibration menus multiple times and the factory restore etc. Then wondered about the toner cartridge. If the problem is just with the Magenta, maybe this is where the issue lies. The printer had remanufactured toners in it - all the others were fine. Went and found a new HP original magenta toner - printer did its default recalibration on startup and the config test page came out like new. Put the old one back in and problem reappeared.

Strongly suggest you try another toner cartridge - as I suspect the chip is to blame in some way.

SOURCE: Have just replaced Magenta toner cartridge (HP

that is something called laser scanner contamination, behind the magenta catridge there is a little piece of glass wich is the laser scanner. clean the glass run at least 3 cleaning modes and then sent a test page and see if it gets fixed.
if not take the printer to a service center to make a deeper cleaning or in the worst case scenario to replace the lase scanner

I replaced all 3 color cartridge with origanal hp products, even after calibrations (3 times-full mode) only cyan and black are printing nicely. red and magenta colors are not printing.this is not driver...

This is a common problem with this model of printer. The scanner optic degenration is due to dust buildup on mirrors and lenses. Since the most vulnerable mirror reflects its laser beam to the magenta toner cartridge, red tones are the first to show fading. Colours shift: purples turn blue and oranges turn yellow. The printer optics will need to be cleaned by a technician to resolve this issue as it means dismantling your printer deep into the optics to fix the problem.

We use HP Color Laserjet CM1017; Magenta color is not printing

Dirty laser unit - needs (careful) cleaning internally.

See ' Printing Weak Magenta', 'Printing Light Magenta' for HP CM1015, HP Color Laserjet 1600, 2600, 2605.

All the same laser unit

This printer has stopped printing reds and oranges correctly ? they are faded. Changed the toners & no difference

Print a "Config Report" from the printers menu...If u notice that the fourth square on the left side (fourth being the bottom square) for Magenta (reds and orange) is missing or very faded, this could indicate that the optical mirrors inside the printer have to be cleaned...Design flaw. ESP..if changing toners doesn't work and your your faded issue is with Magenta (Pink, red, or orange) colours are the only faded ones...With this design flaw in the optical mirrors, magenta mirror is the first to be affected!
Hope this helps!!!! I work in the industry :)

My HP 2600N doesn't print the red and I tried to use 3 new toner but it still don't work. It's not the toner problem and it's the printer. My HP warranted is expire. What should I do? Thanks!

HIgh probablility that the DC Controller has had it. This is an increasingly common fault with the HP1600, 2600, 2605, Canon LBP 5000 and 5100 machines all based on the same engine. The DC Controller puts the charge on the cartridges. When it fails the Magenta cartridge is the first affected and the result is - No Magenta ( reds, oranges, violets etc.) The DC controller must be replaced.

HPPSC 1315 --has purple pink tones--cannot get oranges yellow-red

Maybe a corrupt software driver, try updated software from the HP web site. Also it could be the electrical connections to the printer cartridges. Remove the cartridges & clean the gold or silver contacts with a pencil eraser. Be gentle & don't touch the contacts with you fingers, as it leaves an oil film & causes contact problems. Rgds,
