Battery life draining overnight

Battery is draining too quickly even from fully charged and switched off

Try disabling everything you can through the software, if not possible, unplug them. Then plug one in at a time and leave it overnight. If its OK in the morning, plug in the next item, and so on. Make sure battery is fully charged between each test. When the unit discharges overnight again, the last item you reconnected befroe it discharged is the one causing the voltage drain.

Battery drain overnight on a mercedes e320 2003

Unseen things can sometimes brain your battery. A trunk light that doesn't go off when the trunk is closed. Open the trunk and touch the bulb quickly, it should not be hot yet. If it is it's stuck on. The same goes for the glove compartment light.

There could be a problem with the alternator or even a battery that just won't hold a charge as opposed to an actual power drain. Fully charge the battery and then disconnect it for the night. Next morning reconnect it. If the charge is holding it will start just fine. If it doesn't then your battery is suspect.

Pc booting light blinking battery

As a rule this indicates a low battery or a failing battery. If you charge it and it drains quickly, it needs replacement. When getting a new battery (power cells), fully charge it overnight and use it until it drains completely. Once it is recharged for 24 hours, the batter will obtain a memory and last longer.

Hi ive got a samsung galaxy s2 and the battery life is really bad. I will charge the phone fully over night and ut wont even last half a day. Is this a commen problem or do u have a dodgy battery

How old is the phone/battery?

Has the battery been fully discharged (used until it will not power up the item) very many times?
This is very bad for Li/Po batteries. If the phone is less than 6-12 months old, I would contact my cell provider and ask for a replacement battery. In lieu of your provider replacing it, your only option will likely be to replace it yourself. Unlike the old-school Ni/Cad rechargeable batteries, Li/Po batteries lose their ability to hold a charge if they are drained fully too many times. Also a good tip with a new battery is to charge it longer than just until the battery power indicator is full (overnight is a good basic rule, but check your phone's user guide or google the specific battery model for recommended charge times) for the first few charges, and avoid letting it fully discharge. Try to get it on a charger with at least 1 or 2 bars left. This will increase the life of a cell phone battery dramatically.

hope this helps,

The battery drains off very quickly as soon as i fully charge it and unplug it,, it hardly satys upto 12hours with minimal phone usage,, the battery metre usage shows cell standby 42% and also phone idle...

Go to teh phone settings, and under sync accounts disable all teh sync accounts that you are not using such as stocks etc. These constantly use up data and hence drains your battery as they do so in teh background. This should greatly improve your battery. If not, your battery must eb damaged and i woudl suggest you purchase an extended battery which may have up to 40% more battery life.

Battery drains quickly. Loses charge when plugged

Sounds like you need a battery. The key here is that the battery is losing charge while it is supposed to be charging. Works like a car battery, even if the alternator is working 100%, if the battery is pooched, the car won't start.

Charging a Garmin Nuvi 260W

Generally most batterys are left on the charger overnight, thats a good way to ensure a full charge, but as you will be using it in your car, it doesn't matter much as power is always available.

To ensure best possible battery life when you have a brand new battery, charge it fully and then drain it almost to 0% Draining most batterys into 0% will be harmfull instead of helpful, I assume the nuvi uses a Li-ion battery so draining it fully is not a good idea, drain it almost fully and then charge it fully.

And you are good to go, repeat the process if you leave the unit unused for a month or two for best battery life.

Battery charge is finished very soon without even using it( in about 5 hours)

The proper way of charging the battery on your phone is by waiting for your phone to indicate that it's running out of powe but not completelyr, if you frequently charge your phone even if it's not yet necessary(battery life indicator show half-way) the ability of the battery to store power will deminished hence the battery life is shorter. Last resort would be trying another battery unit to test if it's your battery of your phone that's causing the unsual battery drain.

Or you can try the following steps on conserving your phones battery life;

  • Turn off your Infrared and BlueTooth when not in use. Even when they are not in use, they do keep drawing power looking for signals.
  • Switch off the vibration alerts. Vibration causes a lot of power usage thereby making battery drain fast.
  • Re-adjust your screen brightness to around 50%. Screen power is another silent killer.
  • Usually, presetted Backlight durations are of pretty high order, this can be readjusted to get more from your battery. Try reducing the Backlight duration.
  • Often we don’t understand that playing games requires Light, Sounds and Shakes. This in turn leads to tripling of battery drainage.
  • Lower Ringing and other message sounds. This too helps saving a lot of battery.
  • Finally, do charge your battery before it gets drained fully. This enhances battery life.
