Not just the bearing, you need the rear tub assembly and basket in case the shaft is damaged

SOURCE: Neptune washer load noise.

I do know there is a set of bearings on the drum drive shaft. There is an inner and an outer. Some places mention that these bearings are no longer available. However, I found on ebay a gentlemen who sells these bearing and the seals in a kit for about $80.00. It comes with instructions on how to repair and will save a lot of money. I have done this once already to the same washer, now I am doing it again. If you search on ebay maytag neptune parts you will find his listing for a bearing kit. He also describes the jet engine noise.

SOURCE: Noisy spin on hotpoint aquarius WF530 6kg washing machine. Suspect bearing how do I replace them.

If you spin the drum by hand, and it is niosy and rumbling then the main drum bearings have failed.
If under 5 years old, then you should be able to get it repaired under Hotpoint 5 year guarantee, You just pay for labour and call out, cheapest option, it is not really a D.I.Y job, as it is quite involved, and entails a lot of work.
Please rate my advice.
Thanks.

SOURCE: Ariston Margarita 2000 NOISY spin cycle....

Remove drum drive belt, and spin drum by hand, if there is any resistance,. or it feels rough or noisy, the the main bearigs have probably failed.
If it is o/k then check motor for worn or noisy bearings,
Please rate my solution.
Thanks.

SOURCE: The washing machine started making a grinding

sounds like a bearing... although it could be the water pump... water pump is an easy fix... bearing is not an easy fix... take the belt off the bottom of the pump (under the machine) and see if it spins freely by turning it w/ your hand... or if it seems really stiff... if it looks good then it's def. your bearing...

Replacing pulley on Blower Housing

If there is no access panel on lower right side behind machine, you will have to lift the top of the machine from the front and remove the front panel to access the inside of the machine. While there it would be a good idea to check out the drum rollers if present and drum glides for wear. Also make sure that the blower wheel is not loose on the motor shaft. All of these will cause noise issues and are common.

Our washer has a loud vibration while spinning. The washer is level.

It could be either bearing failure or the support arms that hold the wash drum are failing. If it is relatively quiet when in the normal wash cycle but noisy only during the spin cycle, means that the bearings have failed. It's an expensive job to replace since you need to tear the entire machine apart to get to the outer tub. Another reason is that the manufacturer does not sell you replacement bearings but you must buy the outer rear tub. Get a few estimates before deciding whether to repair or replace.

Grinding Noise

Hi,

Check for drum bearing failure if your washing machine is noisy on the spin cycle. Drum bearing failure is common when the bearing seals start allowing water to enter. You can take the belt off and spin the drum by hand, and if the drum rumbles, replace the bearings.

Hope this helps.

God Bless.
