  • brice Dopin Dec 25, 2014

THE MOST IMPORTANT THING about ramm and here is were it pays to look up unit spec sheet is:that there some ?most nowadays are 2 channels or more ,,if motherboard sez on board next to the ramm slots (in very small print but it's there will say slot 0 and slot 1 and slot 2 and 3,,but if two channels ,board will also say "A"channel and "B "channel::if so buy or get ramm in "MATCHED PAIRS", OR FOUR Matched CARDS,,,this is where most techs fall off,,,,like Intel, dell comp, manual indicates that speed or Mhz is not impor size 1 gig,,but most important thing#1) is to ,,"have matched ramm cards ,,,the @CORE CPU ACTS LIKE A 4 CORE WHEN IT IS ON IN OR USING ALLTHEARDS and knows which ones NOT TO USE, under certain operating parameters t

First, you must determine the applicable memory to your motherboard by reading the manual or it should be indicated in the box.

Ex.:
1600 (O.C.)/1333/1066/800 MHz FSB
4 x 1.8V DDR2 DIMM sockets supporting up to 8 GB of total system memory

With the above details, you can buy up to 4 memory modules, each with a maximum of 2GB. You can also choose your preferred FSB, 1333/1066/800MHz but you can tweak the system and choose the overclock module, 1600MHz. Remember to carefully install your memory module to the memory slot, the notch will give you an idea on how it'll perfectly fit. The left & right holder of the memory will produce a sound after you carefully install the memory modules thus, also indicating of a successful installation.

Hope this gives you a lot of help!

SOURCE: Gigabyte GA-81EXW memory chips

Any 184-pin ddr ram should work on this. You can actually use pc3200 (ddr 400) ram as well. Pc2700 ram is ddr333, and a higher speed ddr ram like pc3200 will work just as well if not better than pc2700, it will simply go down to the speed that the processor requests the ram run at. It's all backwards compatible, faster ram can run slower if the computer needs it to run at the slower speed. Depending on the price you can find as long as you get 184 pin ddr ram either pc2700 or pc3200 with work fine with your motherboard. Peter

Memory installation

Perhaps there is a problem with the 2nd slot in your motherboard.
Tr this - place the two memory sticks in the Outside two slots - the orange ones.
OR you didn't get the correct speed memory - usually the motherboard will interleave two slots to access the memory faster - than if only one memory module is installed.
The "DDR1" slot is the one closest to the CPU processor chip.

My Dedicated Video Memory Is 64MB. How to i increase dedicated video memory.I Use gigabyte Motherboard

You need to alter the video memory setting in BIOS. You can get to this by tapping F2 or Del during the boot sequence and then finding the setting within BIOS. Bear in mind that the amount of dedicated memory can only be altered within certain limits. Some motherboards - you don't give a model number - don't support more than 64Mb, others support 1Gb, depending upon board and amount of memory installed

Just installed a gigabyte GA-7VT600 motherboard and on power up it got to bios screen and froze up. Now after trying to reboot I have no video of anykind. The pc sounds like it's running through boot...

Try taking the video card out and replacing it back...making sure that it is properly seated...if you can obtain another video card...try replacing the video card...this will rule out the motherboard if it works.
