Well, if you have a DVD-ROM, all you need is a video card with a s-video out to connect to your TV and then you could put your DVD player in your room and play your DVD's from your PC. Another way to do it (without having to buy anything) is to connect the sound of your DVD player to a stereo receiver and then plug the sub into the headphone jacks and the speakers to the sub.

Bad connection on that one speaker, if you have tested the system with other equipment and it works thn you MUST have a bad connection INSIDE you DVD player. If your DVD had a whole channel out on your output amplifier I beleive then 2 speakers would not work so more than likely you have a bad solder joint inside system for DVD output

You need a digital decoder that is compatible with the ps3 and the speakers.
You would then run a digital optical link from the ps3 to the decoder and the normal speaker cables from the decoder to the speakers.
Decoders can be quite expensive and it can sometimes be easier to buy a set of 5.1s with the decoder either built in or included with the package.
