SOURCE: vibration alert - blurry pictures

I had the EXACT same problem and it was really ticking me off! I tried taking the battery out and waiting, but to no avail. I eventually reset to manufacturers settings and PRESTO it works perfectly now. YAY! I pressed the "home" button, then went to "main settings", and clicked on "initialize".

SOURCE: blurring/grainy pictures, and lens error

hi

here are some tips that may be the reason why you are having those blurry, grainy and yellowish pics.

It is important to keep your lens away from excessive heat (i.e., hot car in summertime or a heat source in a home). This will help prevent the greases, used in most lens barrels, from breaking down into an oil that can run inside your lens and cause overexposure by slowing down the diaphragm.

Use rear element lens caps on your lenses when they are not on the body. Wide angle lenses, by design, have rear elements that extend out farther then the lens barrel and are susceptible to wear, which can ruin sharpness.

Always use a filter or lens shade (hood) to protect the front element.

Never, ever, oil your lens. A minute amount of oil on the diaphragm blades will cause them to operate slowly.

hope this helps

SOURCE: Moisture? Blurry lens or moisture inside

I haven't tried this myself, but I have heard of folks putting their camera in sunshine, and just let it set , and others have used a hair dryer for short durations. Like I said I haven't tried these, and usually moisture is a camera killer.

There is a foogy spot in the interior of the lens, dead center. The camera has not gotten wet or been left outside. All my pictures are now blurry. Camera is about 1 year old.

Do you live in a hot, humid area? If so, this could be condensation that has left a mark on the lens after evaporating or, as some have experienced, mold growing on the lens surfaces.

BLURRY OR FUZZY LENS

Perhaps you have had the camera in a very humid environment and now there is condensation inside? Perhaps try putting it somewhere warm and dry (not hot) for several days. Switch it on and off (and zoom in and out a bit) a few times during this period to change the air inside the lens. This will help expel the moisture.

I assume that it isn't just finger marks on the front of the lense? If it is, you can use a cleaning cloth (for eye glasses or from a camera shop) to clean it.

Vibration alert - blurry pictures

sigswr50,

The vibration alert flashes when the lighting conditions are poor and the flash is turned off. You can still take pictures in this mode and if teh camera is well stable, the pictures will be sharp. In low light conditions like indoors, turn on the flash or set the camera to Auto mode.

sigswr50 and xenolette
You need to let the autofocus time to focus. Press and HOLD the shutter button HALF WAY and wait for the white rectangle on the LCD display to turn green. Then press the button all the way down to take the picture.
