I would suggest the ignition switch is defective, examine the connecter to the switch for signs of overheating of the plastic connector shell and wire connectors inside the shell, if it shiows signs of heat then replace the connector and the switch. If the connector is ok then replace the switch itself. You may need to find the connector in a salavage yard or check with the delaer.
What age is the bike? older bike will not charge at idle. you will know if the bike is charging by measuring theu voltage of the battery with the bike and all accessories switched off if it is a new battery it will be above 13V A dead battery will be about 11V anything under this and it probably will not recover by charging and you will have to buy a new battery.
ok so lets say the battery is holding 12.5 volts if you start the bike and rev it up and it show higher than 12.5 volt your bike is charging note some bike dont charge under 3000rpm.
sounds like a problem i had with my v star if u can charge it and it starts and runs for a bit then dies again check the rectifier which charges the bike
i dont understand, the bike shouldent start in gear with the lever out it would jump forward when you hit the start button.. there is nothing wrong with the bike by what you say its just a neutral light, witch is a switch find the neutral indicator switch and replace it and your probelms will go away or test the one you have it should test 13ohms in neutral and OL in gear
let me know how you make out
You say it is pull start ... is there a battery in the machine? If it is pull start, I dont understand your question ... If it is pull start, it makes its own electricity through a magneto arrangement.
Start by checking your right hand switch (kill switch) and make sure that it works ok. Put it in "run" position, start the engine and try to move it sideways without pressing it to "off" position. If necessary remove it and check inside for rust or moisture signs.
Suzuki Bandit 250 1996 model has a ******* caburator, pl clean the caburator and ride daily, when you ride the bike pl continue the rpm level between 4 and 6, dont take suzuki brand again pl goto next time honda brand..honet... etc...................................
What u are describing is typical of a faulty ignition system, but could also be a fuel problem. I check by removing the aircleaner and rotating the throttle. If u see a nice spray of fuel, thats probably not the problem. Check for a spark at the plugs. I can explain how if you need me to. If you cant see a good spark, U have an electrical problem. I had a crank position sensor go bad on me. Dont do what I did (replaced the battery, ignition, and regulator as part of my diagnosis procedure)
