SOURCE: kodak camera dropped lens cockeyed stuck open

Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ...

Here's some things that you can do to try to correct it. They only seem to work for less than 50% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, they're worth a try:

Here are the steps:

1. Make sure you will install a new or fully charged battery/batteries into your camera.

2. Clean the battery contacts.

a. Remove the battery/batteries and the memory card from your camera, then wipe the battery contacts with a soft, clean cloth.
b. Reinstall the battery/batteries into your camera

3. Without the memory card, turn on your camera.

SOURCE: how to install fisheye lens and adapter on kodak

No, you do not remove the existing lens. You need to purchase a lens adapter tube that fits around the existing lense. This adapter threads onto the inside bezel on the camera at the base of the lens assembly. Additional converter lenses and filters fit onto this. My adapter has 55mm threading for filters.

SOURCE: my kodak c195 keeps saying

There is a tiny motor that extends and retracts the lens, sometimes it will jam because part of the gear breaks causing it to malfunction, I would imagine the cost to repair will be high

Kodak digital camera z990 lens obstructed remove lens cap

It seems that many people think that sending a camera back to the manufacturer is helpful. Most of us want help to fix it ourselves. If it is under warranty most know enough to send it back. If it is out of warranty the repair cost for most problems is more then it cost to replace it.

Kodak v570 showing camere error 45 see user guide , need help pl

Error E45 is a lens stuck error and appears if there is an obstruction in the lens gears. The obstruction is usually just dust or something of the like and can be resolved by gently tapping on the camera lens with your hand. Here is a thread where I suggested the same and it seems to have worked for a lot of people

Worth a try before you send it in to Kodak for repair. Don't hit it too hard as the lens may break.

Hello, I have fuji finepix F50fd camera. It suddenly takes blurred pictures. The lens is clean and there are no messages on the screen. Can't remeber dropping it or damaging it in any way. Regards, Sofia

Welcome to FixYa.

There are three reasons why do you get a blurred images.

1. The camera lens is dirty
- clean the lens with soft and dry cloth
2. AF frame (lit red) and !AF appeared when taking pictures.
- check the focus on the subject and take pictures
3. A small camera icon appeared when taking pictures
- It may cause camera shae. Hold the camera steadily.Use flash photography. A tripod may be recommended, depending on the scene and mode.

Feel free to send us comments or suggestions if this solution was helpful.

What do you mean with obstructed lens, remove lens cap.

Sorry, but your question is confusing. This appears to be your first FixYa question and nobody has answered it yet nor asked for a clarification, but your question appears to be querying an answer which you have already had.

I'm going to assume that you've simply made an error and want to know how to solve a problem with an obstructed lens on a digital compact camera (the heading suggests a Kodak EasyShare C613). Sorry if the assumption is incorrect, but if you have a stuck lens then you presumably want a fast answer.

Obstructed/stuck lenses are such a common fault that I hope you don't mind me pasting my stock generic answer below. No point in reinventing the wheel!

Stuck lenses are probably the most common reason that compact digital cameras get thrown away, but there's a fair chance of recovering use of your camera again

The fault is commonly caused by dirt or grit blocking the mechanism, or due to it having suffered a recent fall. Another common cause is that the camera was in a pocket or bag and the power button accidentally activated and tried to open the lens against resistance. The mechanism may have simply become dislodged or there may be parts which have broken.

If your camera is still under warranty and has definitely not been subject to misuse then contact the Kodak service department in your country to find out about a free repair. If the warranty has expired though a professional repair will far exceed the cost of replacing your camera. You will therefore have nothing to lose by trying to fix this yourself.

Please click here and you will be taken to an excellent article provided by the Camera Repair website. For the most part, you'll be guided on how to physically manipulate your camera to try and clear the fault.

If the link doesn't work then cut and paste the following address into your browser:-

Good luck, I hope you manage to use this information to fix your camera. Please take a moment to rate the free answer I have provided for you.

If you really did mean to ask something else, then instead of rating my answer please add a comment to clarify what you want to know and I shall try to offer you further assistance.

All pictures are blurred and when looking at screen its blurred

Your camera's Focus mode may be set on Macro Selectable in which case the Auto Focus Range will be "wide: 0.07–0.7 m, tele: 0.4–0.7 m (macro AF)" as quoted in the specifications from www.kodak.com web page for the EasyShare M1033. While this setting is great for a close-up of a flower, anything more than a meter (about one yard) away will be blurred unless you reset your Auto Focus mode back to "normal AF" or "landscape mode"
