HD TV how can I set my TV to hd

Does this model of TV have a built in HD receiver? I've had a quick look at the instruction manual and it looks more or less the same as mine at home. I've not got HD tv reception built in but have to use a set top box. If you're in UK, it should have Freeview HD sticker from the box or manual somewhere but as this looks like an early model tv (only 1 HDMI socket) then you may need a HD set top box such as Sky HD or Freeview HD

WD 65733 IS an HD TV.
The signal coming into is the key.
You must use HDMI or Component Input to translate HD to a TV.
Check the output resolution of you DirecTV box in its setup menu.

You need a HD box connected to the DTV input on the back of the set (it is marked 1080) This set has only one HD input for this---HD ready means it will work only with a box (some newer sets have a HD tuner built into them and for basic HD channels do not need a box).

well this tv dont have component inputs. u can connect hd set top box via a/v well picture will come but no hd experiance.....u have to buy a hd tv

You should be able to just go into your settings and modify it.

Get a roof or digital antena.Will give u better signal.HD 1080i CBS,NBS check that if u have that in 1080i well able to get HD on the set.U might have a 720p tv set.

If your set is labeled as "HD ready" then it will accept HD signals from, for example, an external HD tuner or other source. The set can be HD Ready, as is my Samsung TV, but my set has only the older NTSC type tuner. I therefore use a digital stream HD tuner which works great to receive over the air signals. Also digital does not mean a set is HD. There are sets that are standard definition digital sets that can receive digital signals, but do not produce HD. If you are using cable, in most cases, you can continue receiving your cable as usual.

These units are not HD sets. So if you want HD sorry to say you will need a different TV. If you can live without the HD these TVs have a great picture thats as close to HD as a regular set gets.

Check your manual, I have the same set and you need a
WD 5000 HD upgrade panel, I believe.
This TV is HD upgradeable, it is NOT HD ready, like you have
been told by other responder......

Not if it doesnt have HD on it all HD Ready Sets have it printed on TV.
