I have movies on a USB device and when you select the USB port, the option for movies does not appear - only photos and Music. The movie files are displayed in the music tab, however they will not play from here as they are not correct file type for music. Panasonic TV TH-L39EM5A Can you please help?
Its sounds like the size and or format my not be supported by the tv or the files were place onto the drive in a way that is incompatible with your tv set, please refer to the manual on the process on setting up a usb drive to be used with the set. Like I said its usually the location of the file, the format the file is in, the size and or the way the files were put onto the drive. but to save time page 36 of the manual here https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1142672/Panasonic-Viera-Th-L32em5a.html?page=36#manual says that that usb port is for images and audio not video so technically it won't work because the software does not support it. And no you can not make it work (there are ways to but nothing you could do unless you do computer programming and can write software to update it and thats a far stretch) so just saving you time. good luck

First ya need the Android TV web browser App either on your TV or download from http://play.google.com/store to your TV (Some how) and then browse http://play.google.com/store to find and download the Correct Android TV MOVIE App;
To play Movie files IE: .mov, .wmv, .avi...
Might need to try a few to get the right one :(
SOURCE: when entering my usb stick or looking on the on
some OS's do not give that option when plugging in a usb device.... however if that is the case then click on MY COMPUTER > REMOVEABLE DRIVE (Whatever your pendrive is located) Then click on the movies :)
SOURCE: usb problem lg pq2000
pq2000 does not have a movies option for USA, the pq3000 does. I also have the 2000..
SOURCE: My lg lcd tv has a usb port but only recognises
You need to activate it first, here are the steps:
1. Press the enter(OK) both on the remote and the TV at the same time...hold for about 5 seconds
2. Password - 0000
3. Go to tool option 3
4. Change Jpeg to 1
5. Change Divx to SD or HD
6. Exit and try it out.
You will notice that now there are 8 inputs in the option list instead of 6 - Including a USB input.
Hope this helps
SOURCE: I have LCD TV LG
That is because the USB port is for servicing only and not for Video and audio.
Notes about using USB
= Before using this function, make sure that you select the correct source (USB) and insert a USB storage device on
the TV to view compatible photo, movie and text on the TV screen or play compatible music through the TV.
= If the connected USB HDD does not have an external power source, it may not be detected. Be sure to connect the
external power source.
= To avoid losing the data on your USB device or damaging your USB device, it is recommended that you back up your USB
device data.
= The USB multi media playing menu may vary in different situations.
= If you want to pull out the USB device, please exit USB mode first.
= For instructions on using your USB device, refer to the owner's manual for your USB device.
= Never remove the USB device or turn off the TV while using the USB device. Doing so may result in loss of data and/or
damage to the USB device and/or TV.
= Certain types of USB devices may not be compatible with this TV.
page 21 also shows hitting USB button on remote (lost that?)o

First you will have either copy and pate the movie or download it to your usb drive
One of the benefits of putting files on a USB flash drive is that you can make any type of file portable.
This includes not only documents, spreadsheets and photos, but also media like video clips and movies.
If you have movies saved on your flash drive that you want to view, watching the movies directly from the USB drive is a simple process and can be achieved on almost any computer.
Connect your USB drive to the device on which you want to watch your movies.
This includes all USB-compatible computers, as well as some select television-compatible devices (like the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 or Sony Media Extender).
Launch the file explorer application on your device.
In Windows, access this utility by accessing the "Computer" application and then double-clicking the USB drive to display the files.
If you are trying to watch the movie files on a compatible television device, look for a "media," "device" or "USB input" application or button to bring up the file explorer.
Select the movie file you want to play.
In Windows, do this by double-clicking on the file.
The appropriate media-handling program should automatically launch and begin playing the movie automatically.
If you are using a television device, select the file from the list of compatible files in the device's internal explorer system.
hope this helps
