Hi. I have been going nuts for the past few days trying to figure this out. I went thru 5 universal remotes and tons of research online and i found only one solution. Not a remote but a R F modulater fixed my problem. You can get one on ebay cheap. Walmart also. Worked for us. Now my daughter can watch a dvd.
Getting the speakers probably won't be easy but as far as the remote goes maybe a place like Sears can order it for you since they sold these TV's as well as Kmart.
Try to get other disk to read if you can not you may have a lens problem and will have to clean it. I would suggest using a fiber optic cleaning kit. You can find them on-line I beleive.
