We would like to check the appliance (GE Energy Star washer #WHSE5240D1WW) for anything wrong before calling the plumber to come back out. It was very strange to have water flow out of the machine when it was tipped to reach underneath.
If the drained water is overflowing at the drain in or on the wall, that drain may be too small in diameter for the volume of water being pumped out of the washer. Because it is pumped out, it is generally moving faster than water that would be drained by gravity. ALSO very important is the height of the drain connection. I had that problem and had to extend the drain pipe about a foot vertically. The entry point of the pipe can be too close to the P trap, which slows down the flow as it changes the direction of flow. If there is not sufficient volume above the trap, it can back up and overflow due to slower flow through the trap.

waht u need to do is get a bucket now take the outlet hose and place it into it low to the ground if water comes out then it will be that your pump is faulty and needs replacing but if it doesnt the only way to do it is towels on the floor and with a low pan place this under the sump hose which should be in the middle of your drum which then leads to the pump pull slowly but not enough for the water to push the hose of do this until empty the only other way is to take it outside and pull the outlet hose of this is the quicker and dryiest out of them all but do do the first part to c if the pump is faulty m8

Pull the front panel off, look for a plastic piece , it has a filter that you need to pull out. turn it to the left pull it out and clean it. This solved the problem for me. had the same issues.

you don't you get a different plumber may only be a partial restriction in drain line and could be any where down the line water is pump out on some washer faster than a restricted drain can handle it and no there is no way to reduce rate water is being pump out..been there have the t-shirt
SOURCE: Water overflowing from drain pipe
The problem with the new washing machines, is that they dump 20-22 gallons of water in 4-5 seconds. This amount is far more than the garden hose test will submit the drain to. Here are a number of solutions, I hope that one of these will help you.
#1 As mentioned above, you can restrict the flow of the drain pipe. I recommend a 3/4" x 6" brass nipple, or a 1/2" x 6" brass nipple, depending on your specific situation. The brass nipple will not corrode like a galvanized nipple.
#2 There is also a rubber cap that you attach to the drain pipe that fits around the drain hose tightly.
#3 Some situations might require that you have to raise your drain pipe. It is recommended that it be at least 36". This allows for gravity to assist the drain.
#4 Some situations will require that the drain pipe be increase in diameter. Older plumbing applications were installed using 1 1/2" piping. With the newer washing machine discharge volume, the 1 1/2" pipes will not support the discharge. Your drain line will need to be changed to 2". This option will be one of the more costly fixes, depending on the amount of line that needs to be changed.
#5 Some plumbing installations installed without a p-trap will need to be changed. The p-trap keeps sewer gas from coming back into the house. It also allows for a smooth transition into the drain line. Any restrictions in the drain line (i.e. ells, tees,) will cause the soap in the gray water to foam up which will cause the drain line to slowly back up.
I hope these solutinons help.
SOURCE: ge washer not draining or spinning
Washer will not drain or spin. Got the water out andf tried it . It would spin and seem to drain what little was left in the drum. When I added about 1" of water it would not drian or spin. Drum sets at an angle also.
