I have a shark vac and steam the light doesnt come on nor will it heat and steam

There is no point. All you will end up with is distilled water and the wand head that smells nice. When water is boiled and turned into steam everything in the water is left behind and only the steam is released.

im not familiar with that brand but i am an electrician and vac tech. i would if i were you i would check and make sure the heating element had power at its connection. if there is power replace the heating element. plenty of online vac parts stores have schematics along with a parts list to help you locate part in vacuum.

solution number 2 works. however, you don't have to take it apart, the base plate has a steam hole in the center, just clean out with a paper clip. watch out for the residual steam, it actually helps clean out the mineral deposits
