Question about Lexmark Prospect Pro205 Wireless All-In-One InkJet Printer
Posted by Anonymous on
The trouble with most of the printer ink cartridge manufactures is that they have for a number of years made it harder to refill cartridges and want you to buy them new. It will depend on what model of printer as there are certain cartridges that can be refilled only for that model. Also what can affect your being able to refill cartridges is if your printer has had an update to it's own software, not the driver software.

If a black cartridge will not print, with no error messages, it is probably th printhead. Clean it with proper cleaning solution. Refilled ones if done yourself or by someone else, can also have air bubbles, Try blowing down refill hole with tissue under the cartridge to stop ink spills. Also, if you press a folder non scented wipe under the cartridge firmly, you should get a solid little black line or impression. This will tell you if the ink is getting down ok. Try reprinting.

Lexmark builds intelligence into their cartridges and printers to prevent the use of refilled cartridges.
Lexmark has never approved the use of anyone else's ink for their printers primarily because there is no way to prove the quality of the ink.
Please purchase a Lexmark cartridge.

its impossible trust me,there is some kind of microswitch in the cartridge that tells the printer its empty-now then listen up-refill it before its empty and it will not know,hows that for a work around

Possible causes here are;
Most likely, the contacts in the printer not touching the chip properly (hence why it works in another printer). A simple gentle 'tweak' would work in this case.
The other possibility is the firmware version of the (offendig) printer being incompatible with the version of the after-market chip you are using. No solution here, other than trying a DIFFERENT MAKE of chip.
