Unplug your modem and router (if you have one) leave them unplugged for 15 seconds or so. Plug them back in. reboot your computer and check to see if the problem is resolved. as for the audio issue. go into "control panel" click on "hardware and sound" tab and then go to "Manage audio devices" here you can look for the tab that connects to the sound system you use, if its' speakers and headphones, click on that, you should have several choices.

I'm confused. A Codec is used in an audio player like Media Player 11. If your computer has no sound when it comes on then you need a driver. I looked up your model and found a Realtek driver speciafically for your machine. You can download this at: http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=VGNS460. If you need an Audio CODEC for your media player I would suggest downloading PowerDVD from download.com to insure that your system sound is working correctly then you can use the Microsoft CODEC installation package to determine the real missing CODEC.

Windows 7 is still a beta and Sony probably doesn't make drivers yet for the network adapter on that computer. You might be able to install the windows vista or xp drivers and that may work. You might have to manually install these drivers, however.
