If you can see a blue screen it means that your back light is good and working (blue screen means mute or there is no signal being receive by your receiver/TV)....regarding your remote check the battery are still good and positioned in the correct polarity then try positioning the LED sensor of your remote to the camera of your cellphone (camera ON) try pressing any key you should see the sensor lit (NO sensor light means defective remote)...
Most likely an analogue antenna or satellite dish connection, and or set-up problem! Don't you get a "NO Signal" warning? Check physically your antenna or dish, and connection cables, to ensure that all are correctly connected and not detached or loose. Check your TV menu set-up - make sure you have selected TV from the other possible options such as video, HDMI, USB etc. If that is all OK then call your TV specialist to correctly align your aerial or dish. The remote is likely a separate problem. Been dropped or something? Buy a new universal remote.

If you haven't bricked this unit yet, or paid Syntax/Olevia's highway-robbery price to fix it (and pay STUPID prices to ship it to and fro), there is hope. Despite what Syntax and others say, it IS a replace-able part that can help get your TV to last at least another 12-24 months. During that time, you can save for a new, more reliable and reputable TV.

This is a well-known (at least those of us who had ours fail before yours) symptom of a bad backlight power inverter, which, for the LT30HV is a pain in the arse to get to (it's behind the main power distribution board and motherboard w/Pixelworks chip). If you can take apart a tower computer and install I/O cards, you can do this. These parts are made cheaply in China with 64 weld points that fail 100% of the time - and many other 'name' brand LCD TVs use this exact same CCFL backlight inverter. I'm working on posting the procedure somewhere on the net. The procedure shown in MoniServ's website is on a Kreisen set, which looks FAR more easily serviced than the LT30HV.
Good luck,
Ā·Stand within operating range of the Insignia TV, then aim the remote at the TV's receiver and press the "Lock" button on the remote control.
Ā· Aim the remote at the TV and press the channel buttons to make sure the TV is unlocked. When the TV is locked, it shows a black screen and does not allow you to view anything else. If the screen remains black, press the "Lock" button again. If this doesn't work, change the batteries in the remote and start over at step
OK
