SOURCE: DC Offsets on output - protection don't allowd to switch on

you don't want to do this( bypass the protection0
that d.c. output will burn the coils in your speakers with out making a sound!! you have a biasing problem
or like you said a d.c. offset problem it is best to work on this problem with out a load on the amp, this will allow you to trace back where the trouble is starting at. caps will cause this sort of problem but leaky transistors can also do this, even diodes.
this will require an experienced trouble-shooter.

SOURCE: Yamaha RX V-795

Start with the process of elimination...disconnect speaker wires and (obviously) speakers. Does the amp still enter the protection mode? If not then check wires and speakers for issues. If the results are unchanged, look for protection circuit problems or "overlooked" power supply issues. Good luck...

How do I reset YAMAHA RX-V6A protection mode?

You must repair the amplifier first.
Take it to an authorised Yamaha service centre.

Any way to reset after "protection circuitry" is tripped three times on RX-s602

Hi Jonny andreassen, for what you say, your Yamaha enters protection mode due to a malfunction in the output tepa
As JonSnell Electronic suggests, you should repair or have the power output stages repaired, you also have to control the connection cables and the loudspeakers, due to the possibility that some are damaged and can generate a fault in the Yamaha
I hope you can solve it
Greetings Franco Dosil

Espero puedas resolverlo
Saludos Franco Dosil

How do I reset the protection circuitry on Yamaha RX-A820?

press and hold the 'tone control' and 'info' buttons and press power. This will release the protect. The first thing that show on the display will be the protect code to tell you why it shut down. If it turns right back off, then you most likely have a short in the amp that will need to be repaired.

My Yamaha receiver RX V463 is immediately turning itself off after I try and turn it on? (both with remote and on the receiver itself)

maybe the audio amplifier IC's have problems that's why the device protects himself from a bigger damage

My yamaha rx-v596 makes a clicking sound but does not turn on

If it clicks twice almost instantly (on then off within 1/2second) then its got a serious power supply imbalance.

If it clicks on then 5secs later clicks off then one of the amplifier channels has probably failed and the protection circuit is tripping it off to protect itself.

either way its a repair shop job I'm afraid

Yamaha RX-V663 powers off when I hit the volume up/down button. Used to work fine, but now it doesn't after I hooked up HDMI cables in back. Tried reseating them, but no luck. What am I missing.

Not sure If I'm on the money with this one but make sure none of your speaker leads wires are touching the case or each other. This may be causing the protection circuitry to cut in. ( I did this to my Yamaha when I plugged in yet another lead into the back )

Yamaha Receiver loses audio when changing DTV stations

I believe changing stations is triggering the protection on receiver. When you go to another input and back you give time for the protection circuitry to release speakers again. Try muting your receiver before changing channels. Good luck!
