SOURCE: deleted software on coby mp620-8g

Hi,

Welcome to Fixya. If you deleted the software on your mp3 player you can still load music files by following the instructions below.

1 Open Windows Media Player.

2 Find and click the Sync tab. This is located at the very top of the program.

3 Plug the Coby mp3 player into one of the USB ports found on your computer. Depending on the exact Coby mp3 player that you own, you can either plug the player directly into the USB port or by using the cord that came with the Coby mp3 player. The name of the Coby mp3 player will appear in the top right corner of Windows Media Player.

4 Click Library. This link will be on the left side of the program.

5 Double-click the Songs option in the middle of the screen.

6 Scroll through the list of music on your computer until you find the songs you want to put on the Coby mp3 player. Right-click on the title of the song and a drop box will appear. Select Add to Sync List. You will then notice the song listed in the column located on the right side of the program.

7 Repeat the previous step until you're finished putting songs on the Coby mp3 player.

8 Click the Start Sync tab located beneath the list of songs you chose in Step 6. Those songs will then be added to your Coby mp3 player.

You can also use the Frequently Ask Questions of Coby. Click Here and you can also download the driver and documentation here. Just make sure you select the make and model of your MP3 player

Thanks for using Fixya.

SOURCE: I am having problems getting

At first try to reset the player (use a paper clip to gently press the Reset button on the rear of the player) .
If this can not fix the problem you should recover or upgrade the firmware. Connect it to the PC and run the Coby manager software and try to find the these possibilities within this application.

Good luck!
Thanks.

How do I download music to my COBY MP3 Player?

Does it show up as a USB drive in windows explorer? If not you may need to see if there is a menu option some where in its settings to change it to a mass storage device. It should then show up in windows explorer where you can drag mp3s to the music folder or copy and paste them.

How do I put songs in playlist on my Coby MP620 MP3 player

The Coby is weird, but I found a way to create playlists. It might not be the "real" way, but it works :)
Before I plug the mp3 in my computer I create folders containing the songs I want for each play list. For example I'd create one folder labeled "work out" for songs I want to listen to while working out, and another folder labeled "sleep" for songs to listen to while sleeping, or you could label them based on artists or genre or etc. Then I would copy the songs I want in each playlist into their respective folders.
Next, I plug my coby into my computer, and open it's folder. (should be in computers, and have a icon with a C on it). I'd copy (or click and drag into the coby folder) my play list folders (the ones I labeled work out and sleep). Then eject and remove my mp3.
If you do this, when you turn on your mp3 you should select Music. Then select Broswer (on the bottom). Select the first row, which has the symbol "\" [underneath this is all your songs] and you'll see the names of your play list folders (they'll be below ROOT, MAC OS X Coby Me, and PHOTOS) . If you select your play list name you'll see and be able to play the songs under that playlist.

I have a Coby MP620. It says to drag and drop files to the music.dir folder but I have no such folder. I have the movie, photo and text files but no music. I have no idea what to do next.

When your MP3 Player is connected to a computer, you may transfer music files to your MP3 player using your operating system's basic file management commands (i.e., copy-and-paste or drag-and-drop).Connect the Coby MP3 player to your computer through its USB adapter. Select "Open folder to view files" from the new device dialog box that pops up. If the new device dialog does not appear upon the hardware's connection, click "Start," click "My Computer" and right-click the Coby MP3 player's device icon in Windows Explorer .Click "Start," click "My Music" and open the folder containing the music you wish to transfer onto the Coby MP3 player. Drag and drop the music files or folders into the Coby MP3 player's open directory. Alternatively, you can highlight the music files or folders and click the "Copy the selected" link from the Files and Folders Tasks menu in the left column. Select the "Removable Disk" drive from the list of destinations.

My coby mp620 mp3 player won't play video even if it is converted to mtv file format .

There is an .exe file in your mp3 player, it is the Coby Media Manager. Install it into your PC and open and connect your mp3 player. Go to "Movie" section. Open any folder from your computer and right click and choose synchronization. The video can be any format. Trust me.
