This camera has been sitting in the closet for a few years. I took it out and charged the battery. It will show me the last photo I took but it won't take new pictures. I've tried pushing every button.

now u just need to replace the mainboard..... it´s pretty normal for then to go off if u don´t use it in the conditions they were made to.

You have to charge the batteries for nearly 8-10 hours. Brand new batteries also require a full recharge of 8-10 hours.Not only making sure the batteries are charged, have you changed the battery in the menu under type of batteries.
