When I download my videos they are changed to JPEG photos. Why and can I reverse this?

I know they were videos because I have never taken photos with this camera. It is strictly my video camera...for the moment.

It sounds like you have the wrong settings applied when you download the videos. It depends on the software you use to pull the video's of the camera. Make certain it is set to download proper video formats IE: MPEG etc. If the files you have download are still on the camera and they play as a video, then you should be able to download them again when you have figured out the correct settings. If they are gone you might have lost them.

How do I change the pictures I have already taken from Raw to JPEG on my Canon Rebel t2i?

To change RAW to Jpeg you need to use the software that came with the camera (Digital Photo Professional) or Photoshop or Lightroom. It can't be done in-camera.

Video footage not saved to disk

Sounds like you took the video using AVCHD Lite. It's actually in a hidden folder on the memory card. Most computer will not recognize it. Recommend you don't use it anymore. Use Motion jpeg instead. Takes more space but looks just as good.

TIFF not JPEG

I don't know how you're downloading your pictures, but if they are taken as TIFF in the camera, they should download as such. Try downloading them to a folder you create on your desktop and then work with them from there.

Pix were taken as RAW and need to convert to jpeg so I can download with supported program

Hi,
Please porvide us with more details whether you can copy the RAW files to your PC or not. If you can copy the files to the PC, you can easily convert them to jpeg format using Google Picasa, a free photo editing software which you can download from : http://picasa.google.com/

Hope this solves your problem. Thanks

Photos taken with canon 5d with both raw & jpeg formats. When I open Adobe bridge the photos are displayed as _mg_0133.cr2 and _mg_0133.jpeg. The jpegs can be viewed and opened, but I can't open the cr2...

If you have the 5D Mark II (the latest version,) the raw converter in Photoshop CS3 does not support the format. If you have the earlier version of lthe 5D, download the latest raw converter update from Adobe (free}

If you have the Mark II you can do one of three things to continue using Photoshop:

1. Upgrade to CS4. The latest update for it's raw converter supports the 5D Mark II.

2. Download the Adobe DNG Converter when 5.2 version becomes available and convert your cr2 files to the DNG format which CS3 can read. In the past this has been available as a free download form Adobe, but it's not currently on their site.

3. Use the raw converter that came with your camera.

How to download photos taken with jpeg and raw at the same time

Can you use a memory card reader? Connect directly from the camera may not be allowing you to specify which pictures you can download. You can get an SDHC memory card reader from OfficeMax and pretty much anywhere else.
If you get a memory card reader make sure it is compatible with SDHC cards. If you get a 4GB or higher card you might not be able to use it with some other card readers.

Importing movie onto PC with Vista

I think you should install a software program that has the capability of opening mov file. This would become a plug-in for other programs and enable them to interpret it as mov file. or click on your movie file from camera and change its properties to be opened by a certain software that can open mov file and use it as the default program to open that file.
