I would like to know if an older hard drive from imac model A1076 could be installed in a slightly newer imac, model A1145 and have it be compatible and working with no problems?

Hard drives are universal, and based on physical connection / type. So your older HD should work even if you have newer SATA connection. The connection is backwards compatible.

Sims 3 won't install on my imac G4. I have Leopard 10.8 so I have the correct system requirements. When I click on install it keeps coming up Not supported on this architecture?

If you read the system requirements of Sims 3, it says that you need at least an Intel Core Duo processor, which the iMac G4 does not have. The iMac G4 has a PowerPC processor.

Apple imac HDD install

Pretty sure any size, but they use 3.5" SATA drives, not 2.5 laptop drives. iMacs only use desktop drives so get as big as you want, or can afford with a big cache. The 17 imacs are hard to get into so search the internet on how to get in and replace it and to put the heat shield back in right. Be careful not to break the clips.

Airport Extreme 802.11g

At this point you are much better off installing a USB wireless antennae than spending money on an Airport card, cracking open the iMac, and installing it.

USB wireless adapters are cheap, plentiful, and have more capabilities than the generation of Airport cards that were made for G5 iMacs.
