It would have been helpful if you had provided the model number of the combination unit. It is likely the channel signals are weak or there is some interference.

Try to use the manual tune option for a few main channels to see whether you are getting good signal. If the signal is ok then power off the tv at the mains and start again. I am assuming the TV antenna is external roof mounted.

SOURCE: digital labs 19 inch tv/dvd combo

Wish I knew the answer ... I have the same problem after switching to Dish Network (Satellite). It worked fine with Time Warner Cable. I'm suspecting the signal over Dish is analog (NTSC) which is not supported by this particular TV. I wish I still had the box and receipt!

SOURCE: Quasar VV-2001 TV/VCR combo - msg: Check Antenna Cable Connection

Check first the antenna using another TV. If there is no other TV available, check using an ohmeter. If you are 100% sure tha the antenna is ok then the antenna connector on your Tv is not making a good connection to the antenna plug.

SOURCE: Local channel went digital, lost signal.

You need a digital to analog convertor box to recieve the digital signal.

All UHF+VHF signals will be digital starting in June.

SOURCE: okay i have a digital labs 19

I have the same problem. Seemed to work fine with digital cable, but after switching to Dish Network, no luck. If I plug the AV cables (red/white/yellow) directly into the dish receiver, it works fine. The problem happens when I use it as a second TV connected via the RF cable wire. My only guess is that the dish receiver transmits the signal to the second TV via NTSC ... and the Digital Labs TV only supports ATSC and QAM. Hoping someone can confirm?

I have a pdp4298ed1 akai TV with a digital antenna screwed into the ant in. How do I scan for digital channel's?

To scan for digital channels on your Akai PDP4298ED1 TV, you can follow these steps:
  1. Press the "Menu" button on your TV remote.
  2. Use the arrow buttons to select the "Setup" menu and press "OK".
  3. Use the arrow buttons to select the "Installation" option and press "OK".
  4. Select "Automatic Search" or "Auto Scan" and press "OK". The TV will begin scanning for digital channels.
  5. Once the scan is complete, the TV should display a list of channels that it has found. You can then use the arrow buttons to select a channel and press "OK" to tune to it.
If the auto scan feature does not work, you may need to try a manual scan instead. To do this, follow the same steps as above but instead of selecting "Automatic Search", choose "Manual Search" and enter the frequency of the channel you want to tune to. You can find the frequency information for your local channels by doing a quick online search or checking with your local TV provider.

My TV picture is not coming in and neither is all my channels.

Perhaps you have the TV set to receive analogue TV rather than digital (DBV). Consult the manual about receiving a digital signal.

Use the right arrow button on the remote to set the signal type to air for antenna or cable. Select automatic search on the screen. Press enter on the remote. Wait for search to finish. People faces and a lot of other items on the screen are not natural looking, kind of like a manaquin. Stripes are distorted. It is brand new and I was wondering if the problem is the tv or something else....

On this television you would need to remove the Comcast digital cable box. This tv does not need it. Then you will press the menu button and choose either the channel or the setup category. You will then need to locate the auto ch memory or ch setup subcategory. Then you will select it by pressing enter after scroling down to it. Next you will scroll down to automatic search or ch search and press enter. Select search start for just digital channels and press enter. It may direct you to select yes and then enter. After the television is done searching the 135 channels it will come back to channel 2.1 or the lowest channel you receive. You can then go through your channels with the ch button on your Sharp remote control. The picture can further be adjusted with the av mode button on your remote if you press it repeatedly if you remote control has one.

Can not get hd channels on my new tv..

First of all, digital/HD signals are broadcast at UHF frequencies. You need to know if you have an UHF antenna and, if you do, that it is pointed to the TV stations broadcasting HD.

Second, since most TV's have a setup mode that automatically searches for channels that are able to be received, go to that "Setup" menu on your TV and start the auto search. It will list both analog and digital stations. Note that the analog channel may be, for instance, Channel 39 but the digital channel will be Channel 39-1. Tune to the "dash 1" channel.
