After selecting an auto channel search it will freeze at 19%, occasionally I have to keep the ok button depressed to keep the search going.
It would have been helpful if you had provided the model number of the combination unit. It is likely the channel signals are weak or there is some interference.
Try to use the manual tune option for a few main channels to see whether you are getting good signal. If the signal is ok then power off the tv at the mains and start again. I am assuming the TV antenna is external roof mounted.

Wish I knew the answer ... I have the same problem after switching to Dish Network (Satellite). It worked fine with Time Warner Cable. I'm suspecting the signal over Dish is analog (NTSC) which is not supported by this particular TV. I wish I still had the box and receipt!

SOURCE: Quasar VV-2001 TV/VCR combo - msg: Check Antenna Cable Connection
Check first the antenna using another TV. If there is no other TV available, check using an ohmeter. If you are 100% sure tha the antenna is ok then the antenna connector on your Tv is not making a good connection to the antenna plug.

SOURCE: Local channel went digital, lost signal.
You need a digital to analog convertor box to recieve the digital signal.
All UHF+VHF signals will be digital starting in June.
Thanks for using FixYa - a FixYa rating is appreciated.
SOURCE: okay i have a digital labs 19
I have the same problem. Seemed to work fine with digital cable, but after switching to Dish Network, no luck. If I plug the AV cables (red/white/yellow) directly into the dish receiver, it works fine. The problem happens when I use it as a second TV connected via the RF cable wire. My only guess is that the dish receiver transmits the signal to the second TV via NTSC ... and the Digital Labs TV only supports ATSC and QAM. Hoping someone can confirm?
