(Just to be clear, this is the BBC Radio app, right? If your problem is the BBC News app, I may have a different suggestion.)

Do you have the latest version of the app? It appears that BBC Radio just updated the app a week ago on 31July2014 (Version 1.5.3), but it requires iOS 6.0 or later and is optimized for iPhone 5. I see you have an iPhone 4.

Do you have iOS 6 on your phone? And do you have the latest version of the app?

iOS 6 is supposedly completely compatible with iPhone 4s, and it is also supposedly compatible with iPhone 4 except iOS 6 on:

  • iPhone 4, does not support:
    • Siri
    • Maps flyover
    • Turn-by-turn navigation
    • FaceTime on 3G
    • Hearing aid support
So, it seems to me that this app should still work on your phone, unless you don't have the proper operating system or you haven't upgraded to the new version.

(the info below is copied and pasted for your viewing)
What's New in Version 1.5.3 FIXED - problem with automatically finding your local station
Please note that you can also choose any local station from the option beneath the dial after turning it to 'Find Local Radio'. You can even add up to 3 selected local stations to the dial using the Edit function.
Compatibility: Requires iOS 6.0 or later. Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. This app is optimized for iPhone 5.

There is no way
The only thing you could do is to replace the Chinese Game icons with black icons
In order to do this you need to download your firmware to your pc and play around with it

Do a hard reset. If you don't have firmware 3.0, get that too.

SOURCE: iPhone 3g Power & Volume buttons aren't working

Hello,
This is probably a hardware problem, even though it started happening after a configuration change.
The part that connects the on/off button and the volumes is the same part. This flex cable connects these buttons (and some other parts) to the motherboard. This cable is frequently damaged when the Iphone is wet.
The good part is that it is a cheap part, and relatively easy to install.
You can find a replacement here:

SOURCE: my iphone 3G does not starting up it simply shows the apple logo

U PLS do as i say ..............Open iTunes and connect the iPhone to your Mac or PC

Step Two
Press and hold the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button at the same time.

Step Three
After exactly 10 seconds release the Sleep/Wake button. Continue holding the home button until you iTunes pops up a message telling you that it has detected an iPhone in recovery mode.

The iPhone screen will remain black like this:

NOTE***: It may take a few attempts to get your iPhone into DFU mode. Generally, I hold down both buttons then release the Home button just before I think the Apple logo would appear. If you are still holding both buttons down and you see the Apple logo you are holding them down for too long!

I have a Humax rt531B, about 4 years. During August,Freeview suggested retuning, I have lost many stations, gained several new ones, which don't work, either scrambled or unavailable, poor strength.

Poor signal strength is the bane of any receiver. See if you can improve matters by connecting your antenna to a good antenna amp and connect latter to your humax. Bet it works better. Also position as high as possible and direct it in the direction of most of the stations you want to receive.

How to use make video call on an iPhone 3G using Live Link

At first, we thought video calling with FaceTime on the iPhone 4 was remarkable. Most of us didn't know that in Japan, video calling has already been possible on the iPhone 3G. Using the back camera, people can make video call over wifi using Live Link 3G, from Yudo, Inc.

This app is now available for iPhone 3G users in the US & probably the whole world.

To make a video call, you must install the app on both the caller & the receiver's iPhone. The app also works for the iPhone 4 & iPhone 3GS.
The app is approved by Apple so you don't need to jailbreak your iPhone to install it. The only requirement is for your iPhone to have iOS 4.0 or later versions, installed.
CLICK HERE to download Live Link 3G or use thie link below: http://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/live-link-3g-fine-3/id360021071?mt=8

Once you've installed the app, here are the steps on how you can make video calls on it.

Open Live Link 3G and register your account. Can you surf the web on an Apple iPhone without a Wi-Fi connection?

There are two nation-wide cell networks that allow you to browse the internet. The EDGE network (for original iPhone) and the 3G network (3G is faster, but not as widespread and can only be accessed through the iPhone 3G ). iPhone monthly plans include unlimited use of the internet, without using up your calling minutes.

If you can take advantage of a nearby wireless hub, you'll have much better speed than when you're on a cell-phone data network... but even without wireless, you can still browse, email, work and play via the EDGE or 3G cell-phone network.

I bought the Text Free Unlimited app as an alternate way to send SMS messages w/o having to pay per each message, and whenever I receive a message, I get notified via the Mail app. However, I get notified...

Is your email push? As far as I know, only MobileMe and Yahoo offer Push service.
If you have gmail and hotmail or other email service, iPhone checks around every 15 minutes. So, that may be the problem.

"Poor GPS Reception" error on iPhone Tom Tom GPS

Unfortunately it appears the iPhone's GPS chip isn't up to much as we've all suspected. Some people can get it working while many are reporting, like you, that they get drop outs and poor signal strength errors. This is happening accross all the iPhone Sat Nav apps so it points the finger at the GPS chip itself, especially as many of these people are stating they have dedicated tomtoms and the like that work fine. I've tried Copilot, tomtom and others on the iPhone 3GS and none are able to keep signal long enough to be any good. In fact they are a complete waste of money. It's no suprise Tomtom are releasing a cradle for the iPhone which includes a seperate more powerful GPS receiver...
