Make sure it is plugged in and you have power to your house. If everything is dead check your fusebox for blown fuses if you have circuit breakers reset the breaker for the stove by turning it off then back on. If the burners on the top work, but the oven won't you probably have a burned out bake element .To change this turn off power to the stove and unplug remove 2 or 3 screws holding the bake element and remove the wires to the element by loosing the screws on the terminals note sometimes bake elements plug in in this case just unplug. Reverse process to install. Reapply power and test.

SOURCE: We have a Whirlpool electric

This sounds like a temperature limit switch is shutting the oven off. These are located behind he back panel on the rear of the stove.

We have a Whirlpool electric stove. The oven keeps turning itself off. It heats up and then clicks off, repeatedly. The element appears to fit tightly.

This sounds like a temperature limit switch is shutting the oven off. These are located behind he back panel on the rear of the stove.

I have a Whirlpool GS773LXSS gas range. You press bake, it clicks once and doesn't heat up at all. Press Broil, clicks twice and doesn't heat up.

Is the gas turned on to the stove? Is the pilot light lit?
Any special circumstances surrounding this incident? like this stove is new or old. Or you are new to gas stoves etc.

there is a control board just behind the clock. on that board is an omron g2rl-1a-e-cf, 9vdc, 16/250vac type relay. i replaced that relay with an equivalent wired in one and that fixed the problem.
