The thermal fuse should be connected to and near the heating element. Check the paper electrical diagram, taped on the inside of the dryer.

SOURCE: how do i test a thermal fuse

A fuse is tested using the continuity or resistance (ohm) setting on a multimeter.

Disconnect the power to the dryer. Disconnect the leads to the fuse. With the meter set on continuity, the meter should beep - if you set to ohms, you should read 0 ohms across the terminals of the fuse. If you read infinity, the fuse is bad.

The Thermal Fuse is located on the air blower housing. Its a small white plastic component with two wire leads.

The Thermal Cut-Out (TCO) is located on the outside of the heater box on the end opposite the heating element terminals.

The reason I mention both these components is because some people confuse the two and use the words interchangeably. There is a difference between the two components and what they do.

DOUBLE CHECK YOUR SYMPTOMS:

If your dryer does not run at all, check your Thermal Fuse.

If your dryer runs, but does not heat you need to check the Thermal Cut-Out.

If you have any questions, please post back and let me know what symptoms you are having. Please include your complete model number (located on a nameplate around the door opening) so that I can determine how your dryer is configured. I hope this is helpful to you.

SOURCE: Kenmore Dryer-90 Series- Pushed Start button nothing happened

get a meter, unplug the dryer and read out the fuse, pull one of the wires off when you read it out, also when was the last time you cleaned out the dryer?if it's the fuse usually the air isn't moving very well, you need to clean out the duct that the lint filter slides into, vac out the inside of dryer where the motor is and clean out the vent line and make sure the outside vent is clear,if it's a long run from the back of dryer to the outside i use a leaf blower to blow out the vent line, make sure you have 240 coming in at the back of dryer, you could have a blown fuse,if the thermal fuse is good, check the thermostats on the heater box and read out the heater, good luck,if i can help with anything else let me know

Amana dryer model YNED7200TW will not start. there is power, but start button does nothing. Resetting breaker did not work. Any ideas?

Thermal Fuse

Item #2986 (OEM Part)
$10.70

Thermal fuse. If the dryer overheats, this device stops the flow of electricity to the heat source and/or the entire dryer. It is located on the blower housing and cannot be reset. The most common cause for overheating is a vent tube clogged with lint, a birds nest or other debris.

Kenmore electric dryer heats but does not dry the

Hi, Here are the obvious parts to check: Heater, High limit, Thermal fuse or thermostats...these are all generally located in the back but some models you access them from front. the most common cause is either heater or thermal fuse, I will include a picture of the thermal fuse. If you test these parts and find they all work you may be looking at a centrifiacal switch problem.

Here is a picture of the thermal fuse check this part first:

Please feel free to contact again if you have any other problems.

Hope this helps.

Kenmore electric dryer (model # 110 60202990) dried a load of clothes like normal. But with the current load, it suddenly stopped heating. How can I fix this?

Hello Friend, Your problem is very simple to fix. You need a thermal fuse, very simple and affordable to replace. To replace the thermal fuse just remove back cover of dryer and look down where the air blows out. Now, just to the left where all the wires are you will see a white plastic part with two wires plugged into it. This part is called a thermal fuse. Just remove these wires and replace the thermal fuse. Your dryer will run like new. Happy to help, Tim.

Kenmore 70 Series Dryer Model# 110.64742400

check the thermal fuse if it is blown also change the high limit thermal cut-off fuse www.repairclinic.com shows your parts. go there and enter model number. Also check the heat element. to get into it remove the lint filter and the two screws you'll see there then pry the top up at the front corners. And through the back you should find the heat element and blower housing and thermal fuse and high limit fuse and cycling thermostat.
